Seems like I was spending as much time as I was riding the bike. Having tried both the 3 finger a 5 finger setups, and with everyone online quick to blame the late model transmission, I'd decided to take the plunge and simply replace the clutch setup with a better design. Turns out, It was just what the bike needed and well worth the money, not only with regard to the hassle saved, but the savings in potential transmission damage avoided.
