Shumai is one of my favorite japanese food. It is actually easier to make than one would think. Please prepare many at the same time and enjoy!

Ingredients (for 5 to 6 people, yields about 60 pieces) :
- 800g ground pork
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp cooking sake amzn.to/3tJkWDv
- 2 onions
- 3 tsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- a little bit of pepper
- 4 tbsp potato starch
- 2 tsp chinese chicken bouillon powder amzn.to/47zuzSP
- some shumai wrappers

My wrappers opened up like "flowers" leaving the meat in the middle, how do you keep them from doing that?

Hello, do you mean the wrappers opened up flat, leaving the sides of the meat exposed? Because it would be normal to see the meat from the top, the meat is indeed visible from the top, it is not meant to be completely closed.
