When I connect Shure MV7 to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it only records a crackling noise. It doesn't record the real audio. How to get rid of that noise and record normally when Shure MV7 is connected to an iPhone? I've used the correct cable and they're properly connected. When I try to update the firmware on Motiv app, it just gives an error. I also tested with a different microphone and it works perfectly with the iPhone so there's some issue with the Shure connection.

Great video. I was wondering where you got the microUSB to lightning cable. I can not find that anywhere. I have an adapter to plug the USB type A which connects to lightning, but the connection is not always reliable with it. Because of that, I am trying to find a direct connection.

In the video you have a long cord but in the link it shows the shure 15inch cord ? Is the longer off brand cord compatible with the mic? And are you using a shure cord or off brand ?thank you

I’ve been wanting to get this mic. Love the quality. I love the ability to use it with my iPhone if needed, but I was wondering if you knew if it works with a zoom H4N pro or H5? I’m not looking to get a interface but I have these and wanted to know if it was compatible.

Those Zoom recorders have XLR inputs so yes, the Shure MV7 should work with them.

What about Android? Same thing? Also wasn’t really clear the far feature how far you can be to pick the sound well. Looks like you still have to be very close to the mic…

It should work the same on an Android phone, which I don't have. Yes you should stay close to the mic. It is not a shotgun mic.

Great video. Is it possible to use the microphone inside the default camera app of the iPhone? Or is the usage restricted on this special app?

Yes it works with the native iOS camera app. Part of the video when I'm holding the phone to record the video, the audio comes from the Shure mic.

Hello, Tools. Tried a lightning to USB into CCK on my iPhone 13pro…it powered but didn’t connect. I put a hub in between, still no connect. I’m not sure if my cck needed to be powered or if ios16 is causing the problem. Any chance you have updated to ios16? Is the MV7 still functioning with the lastest iOS? Thanks for the great vid. I’m excited to get one of these for the dual output ability…if I can get it to work. I’ll go back to the store tomorrow with my iPad and see if it connects there. Thanks again.

Solved; I purchased a presented MV7 it had old firmware..my third party cables worked perfectly. I upgraded to the latest firmware and started having problems, audio would pass but video apps would power cycle my phone. I purchased the 15” Shure cable and now everything works. I do have a third party lighting extension cable and everything works when I use it.

What happened? If you are talking about the cable connection. Try the one I posted in the video description. Get the one from Shure.

Yes it does work for FaceTime. It is automatically connected to the iPhone as its default microphone. It can be verified by viewing the audio level in real time in the Shure Motive app.

I didn't pay attention to the battery drain issue. It definitely is powered by the phone battery though. Any USB mic connected to the phone this way drains battery.

I could spend hours recording video content in 4K at 60FPS using my Shure MV88+, but the Apogee HypeMic had abysmal battery efficiency on the same device. FWIW, both Shure devices claim to require just 100 mA of power. Thank you again! I look forward to future content. 😊 ✌️

@@ukulelewithtyler the HypeMic is a condenser mic, which means it requires phantom power and therefore drains batteries much faster than these dynamic mics!
