The man IS the juggling textbook. Perfect form and timing all day ery day. Check The Technique, Dont Swe at the Technique... Thats who showed me, 313 famalam at a show in Dayton. Mr. Rob Swift. Detroit used to be lit af.
Hip Hop DJs don't get enough respect outside the underground community any more. They're almost always considerably more technically capable, and often more cerebral, than their MC/rapper counterparts...
it's funny how i stumbled onto this but I was just thinking about this exact thing the other day. I was wanting to learn better ways to transition....amazing
lotta people converted to electronic vinyls like serato scratch. it uses a artificial vinyls and a box connected to a laptop and puts an mp3 to the vinyl
haha yeah nice thx 4 upload !!!! i have the video tape can you upload the whole thing from mix master mike ???? that would be great !!!!!! Total Eclipse and Rhettmatic where dope too maybee you can upload both please let me know thx !!!!
Man, you can go into any genre and beat juggle. . . .but it's alway's 2 of the same record. Sometimes it's just not enough. . . as for mixing. . .you can still do this with any DVS (Digital Vinyl System) that can manipulate the mp3's like a regular record (Serato, Tracktor, Torq) AS for gear, you can never go wrong with Tech 1200's. . .but some newmarks are out there that can handle the stress. . . hope that helps or whatever. . .or I'm talking outta my ass!
No worries man. . . . I started Djing AFTER high school, and the people that I used to know that started in high school are HEAVY in the scene now. . . .VCI-300 is a great starter for serato or whatever DVS you use. But when you get into some loot, look into the heavy duty shit (the Numark NS7) I'll stick with vinyl and 12's for that amount of loot. Just keep grinidn man. Wealth is not a substitute for passion. And things have a way of falling into place.
Yo guys I need some help from y'all! I got a question! Is it possible to execute these patterns (including patterns in part2) in hamster style aka crossfader reverse style? I can do the tapping part and backspinning, but I want to move further any tips? Please help
You can actually buy a used pair of technics 1200's for around $500. Serato is a great tool for any dj and will save you tons of money on music. I recommend that you start out with vinyl because you will learn how delicate needles can be. I taught my brother in law hoe to dj on cd turntables and now he's no good on vinyl. Learning on vinyl will give you an advantage skill wise over the dj's who start out with the newer technology. Just remember to practice practice practice. Good luck!
all you guys hating on cdjs got it wrong. i never got any good with them myself, but it's misguided to knock someone just for using a cdj or a ns7 or whatever if they can scratch as good as the next guy does on 12s. i know guys who can use either, and one of my friends even told me that when it's hot and humid he actually prefers the cdj to the turntable, but maybe that's more of a problem down here in the south. cdjs have come a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way since 2002
