Shyvana looks really cool! ... in her splash art || design hot take  

I mean, most champions looks really cool in their splash art. That's just fact.

I always figured the romance between Jarvin and Shyvana was eventually going to function as a vehicle to have Jarvin question or challenge Demacia's anti-magic bigotry. Conceptually speaking I don't think it's any weirder than Diane and Leona (though Shyvana's unquestioning loyalty to Jarvin gives it a bad vibe sometimes, that feels more like an execution problem).

No offense, but "cooler in her splash art than her model" applies to almost every champion.

I like that even in Demacia, there are people who accepted her.

As someone who mains Shyvana I’d like to add that Shyvana is still really fun to play despite her bad design, also I think her relationship with Jarvan would be a cool thing to explore.

Shyvana is honestly a character with a lot of potential. And while her model is outdated, I love both her tough version (splash art) and the sweet, young, more innocent one present in the model (just look at that face). I do agree her armour in the model needs serious work though. That being said, I have seen a few good arts of the two of them together and they're simply charming

And I really want to see Ana's life with the Dragonguards. They only exist in LoR. Even Quinn and her people showed up in a short story.

J4 and shyvana's relationship could be one of the most interesting in the story if Jarvan's feelings are one-sided. How do these character's handle a relationship of strong mutual respect when when there is an extreme power difference? When one's public status as a human with rights only exists becuase of the others intervention? When the one with all the power wants to something from the relationship Shyvana isn't interested in? It would give Shyvana an opportunity to show us how she asserts herself under great pressure. And it would give Jarvan an opportunity to really show who he Is. It could even be used to make a parallel between Viego and Jarvan, which seems relavent given the latest ruined king trailer. I don't even know what i want riot to say with that story i just think it could be a great way to say so many things.

I wish they kept her old lore, where she had a loving father instead.

Shyvana is the true love of J4 the beauty and the beast, cause demacian's doesn't like "DIFFERENT" so if their future king (J4) dating shyvana demacia might change for the better

The more I look at all the champion designs in LoL and WildRift makes me lean more on the theory WildRift is one of the reasons Riot is now refining more of their designs (I am aware the people working WildRift are different groups of people). It's kinda like continuing their art on a new blank canvas.

Yeah, Jarman and Shyv don't even have an interaction in LoR, which is a REALLY weird oversight considering the two work well together mechanically and the lore connection. Demacia in general needs more interactions.

I love the relationship between J4 and Shyvana. A subversion of the typical knight in shining armor fighting the dragon to get to the princess up in the tower. I really hope that when she gets a rework they also develop this relationship further and we get to see how their connection changed and in what direction it is going. J4 is caring for her but obviously can’t really be open about any affection he holds towards her in public. My favorite idea is that she swoops in to save him again and alongside garren and lux they show demacia they don’t have to shun all magic on principle alone. Demacia is supposed to be a refuge not a authoritarian state it is now on the brink of civil war. Anyway I just wanted to say I love the idea of the big strong dragon lady falling in love with the dashing prince despite the objections of the other stuck up nobles. Also it would give Shyvana even more of a place she can belong and have a family she can trust. Girl needs a break

I feel like j4 falling for her actually makes a lot of sense, since she saves his life and Demacians are all about justice (therefore gratitude and nobility are probably very important in their culture and having yourself saved by someone would probably lead to other emotions and then feelings) and then shyv falling for him would probably be from their interaction and the bond that formed after he protected her and helped her kill her rageous mother, I just feel like riot sometimes needs better storytelling

She's halfway there, just needs riot to look at her again and give slightly more fitting textures to her model. And, much like many other older demacians, get her up to pace with the lore.(even j4 needs to catch up with demacia).

i've seen many people shipping her with so many different characters, basically every single demacian champs that isn't Garen, tbh I always felt that J4 as a love interest for Shyvana is one of the least popular

The splash art is THICC, but on the other hand shes a STICC

I mean, Dragons in a lot of fantasy lore can shapeshift into humans, which makes her human design make more sense and the love interest thing less strange.

And this is one of the many reasons she needs a VGU. *Me over here hoping we get one like Voli where the whole "oh no I saw a montage back in preseason with AP 1-shots so clearly you're just an AP champ" gets replaced with being able to build literally anything and be good*

It's always funny to watch these videos and be impressed by the splash art for these characters... Only to be smacked in the face with the actual in-game sprites

the dragon models in Heroes of the Storm for Deathwing and Alextrasza were pulled off way better

Subjectively did an awesome redesign of Shyvanna that def brings the draconic aspect of the character forward better.

I wish she had more armor and also i wish she looked more like the Elder Dragon.

I kinda miss the times when her father was the dragon and her mother was also dragon and been chasing her and her father... there even was a fn made comic... :(

Her model in wild rift is so good they need to implement it

I liked the old lore where she was born to a human mother and dragon father but both were killed due to a rival dragon. In that lore, it was Garen who took her in.

You know I fully expect there to be a sentence about how she used her mother's scale to make her armour.

I mean, if you follow the lore of the Mageseeker game, Jarvan III's last decree as king was supposed to shut down the Mageseekers completely and allow mages in Demacia. Jarvan IV burned this letter out of fear - not because he was afraid of magic, but because he feared the people wouldn't see him as a great king, if his first demand would be to completely change how the government worked. This game also fully canonized Jarvan and Shyvana as a thing, and she tries to tell him that with what he's doing, there is no way she can stay in Demacia. She actively leaves him, stating that as long as there can be no magic in Demacia, SHE can't be allowed in Demacia. Through-out the game, Jarvan realizes the wrongs of his ways and actively tries to stop the Mageseekers. A dialogue line from the game also suggests that the Mageseekers view Shyvana as "the king's pet", and "something to be slain, should IT step out of bounds". She feels she owes her life to the man that saved her, a man she loves, but there's very real human emotions behind her motives - she is scared, the Mageseekers have gained too much power at this point, and while she COULD just incinerate them, this would just prove her to be the monster they accuse her of being. I feel it's a very interesting conflict more than anything else. ... but yes, PLEASE, do give her a rework Riot, she NEEDS IT

When you look at the internal conflict within demacia i think the potential relationship between jarvan and shyv gives it so much potential

The potential romance with Jarvan is a great concept for a future story post rebellion.

There is also interesting redesigns, the most prominent is the one from subjectively but i've seen other cool ones

Also, Shyvana's "dragon form" is a wyvern, not a dragon - Dragons have 4 legs and wings growing out of side or back, wyverns only have two legs and wings replacing the other ones(it used to be replacing their hind legs, nowadays you mostly see wings replacing front ones).

The whole Shyvana x J4 feels so much like it should be a thing where like each of them assumes the other is into them even tho they aren't into each other so they're like keeping up appearances for the other cuz they care about them a lot even tho they don't have feelings for them besides just being bros.

I like that she's gangly and weird, but a shyvanna who takes that and runs would be a very different shyvana than the one they were going for.

The amount of times shyvanna was supposed to be reworked but was ignored and rework given to someone else is too many to count they always play with shy’s when she can be so much better

Shy is one of my favs in league I hope that when they rework they go all in on the western dragon motif

Shyvana's splash is gorgeous yeah. I always loved her pigtails, they are the icing to the whole visual design cake for me. As much as I am frustrated that she doesn't look as cool on her in-game model, I'm even more frustrated that her alternate skins look absolutely nothing like her at all.

I will say the dragon looks a lot better from top down, it's hard to tell that it looks as flimsy as it does (the shape language of big wings does a lot of the work).

Wild Rift managed to give her a better look like most heroes

shyvana could be so badass, there are so many cool ways to visualize a "half dragon". Lol's version is just plain boring IMO. Lor did it a bit better but also not perfect. I hope she gets her Rework soon.

The romance clashing is a hangover from the lore pivot they made demacia do from the paragon of good in runeterra to authoritarian mage racists. It was a little weird but kinda worked earlier now it for the most part doesn't. One of the lore changes I'm not the biggest fan of personally

I love Shyvana and she's my favorite champion ever, been dying to see her be reworked ever since warwick got his, now i have to wait probably until 2022 or 2023 before i see my girl be reworked and I've always dreamt of having an elementalist shyvana skin as well since the element user persona would really suit her draconic traits

Her splash art vs her ingame model reminds me of old Mundo, nice splashart with no pupils but the model ingame goofy but has pupil.

The Ruined Shyvana splash art and in game both look fantastic imo, and Ironscale Shyvana is just cool. Shame her base and even Ironscale Shyvana just look really outdated overall. This champion definitely deserves a VGU imo, cause she's one of my favorites conceptually

I feel like dragon Knight pulled off this design a lot better. He definitely gives the feel of an armoured warrior wielding the fiery power of dragons. The dragon form looks way more impactful too

Shyvana and J4 were cute before the rework. The Demacia rewrite changed the tone entirely. It used to just be "sad orphan dragon girl falls for a prince" and it was fine.

I think they could make their romance an interesting story about laws not applying to aristocracy (tie in with Lux maybe) and familiarity leading to tolerance. That is it Riot ever decides to do anything with it. Also 🪛 AP Shyvana, make AD Shyvana great again

J4 basically becomes a figurehead in which the mage hunters basically usurp his power. J3 warned j4 this to happen and he still bakes them.

In a lot of stories dragons can take on the form of humans so maybe being born around humans shyvana had to learn how to take the form of a dragon instead of the other way around

She disserves a rework putting her back as a juggernaut or embracing her new role as a melee mage assassin. Just imagine her as a future demacian queen marking a turn point of magic view points. I really want her to be a true juggernaut cus throwing a dragon into a team fight should result in pure chaos and terror.
