Apparently this video is supposed to be about struggling with mental health and Shia and Maddie are playing a father and daughter in a mental health crisis (the cage) , the daughter manages to free herself (in other words get help and recover) but wants to help her father, so she tries to lead him out but she can't and he remains trapped and unfortunately doesn't recover 😢❤ XxXxX

I’ve heard the song before. The video sorta looks like a struggle between her more feminine, youthful, Wild, spontaneous and aggressive side versus the side of her thats controlled, restricted, passive, and masculine. It reminds me of one having constant battles with the energies within and them coming together to form balance AND also overpowering each other at times causing chaos

I did hear that as well, I think Maddie said during an interview that it was a wolf (Maddie) and a human (Shia) trapped in a cage and the human is trying to gain the wolfs trust, she said it when everyone was freaking out over the pedophilia theory nonsense but I don't know how true it is tbh 😅 I prefer to believe that it's about a struggle with mental health ❤ XxXxX

I still can’t believe the negativity this received. It shows how paranoid and twisted some people have become that that’s the first thing they think of. I had several interpretations of it. To me it was like 2 sides of the same person, one wants to be free, the other cannot or a father daughter relationship where the father is a mess. As others have said The girl can represent our inner child where we were happy and worry free. And Shia is our adult selves
