lol 100 hours is nothing, i made a halfplate and it takes longer. especially with that level of art... unless... you were crazy enough to get this in die cut.

You have to have the neutral antique paste.

curved blades usually require an open necked scabbard when working in leather. In my humble finding anyway.

I've used that Ritza lighter blue thread before on a hat project for my granddaughters against Mahogany Pro Dye. It came out looking nice and I think it would have looked well here too. The white does pop though.

Museum Replicas, LTD and the black one in the videos is from their “Battlecry” collection. They’re of pretty good construction. Probably not totally battle ready but close.

That sounds awesome! Could you cement the dyed and tooled but unfinished leather to the wood? then after that sets up, if you did a colored antiquing it would go down into the groove line and you could run the stitching spacer to make faux stitch lines... Then maybe if you put spots or rivets on, you could go all the way through the wood for a little extra mounting stability so everything stays together even if the cement eventually works loose?? Idk if that would work, but it works in my head.lol. i don't know how to satisfy the edges though...maybe if the wood was edge painted prior to the leather being attached...or wrap the leather around the edge 😬 just my brainstorming. Would any of that work??

Not with stitching but you could always use a slightly thicker veg tan & leave a ¼" overhang on it & stitch it up. Or wrap the entire thing & stitch in the back. Hope this helps. 😁👍

You can make a belt loop on the back panel but a better way, and the traditional way, to connect a sword to a belt is a “frog”. These come in all shapes and sizes.
