Sidi Mag-1 Boot Review
Sidi has raised the bar for the top level race boot category again. The All New Sidi Mag-1 Boot is a fresh design from the ground up. The Mag-1 is lighter than the Sidi Vortice and has a much smaller outer profile. This is a direct result of the carbon fiber support beams they placed between the Technomicro Outer and the inner liner. It offers the same level of protection without all the bulk. Next up are the TECNO-3 Magnetic closures which are bar none the best design Sidi has blessed us with thus far.

No replaceable sole? And the preform of the boot does not seem as aggressive as the vortice. What gives sidi?

Do these run big or small? I have a chance to get a pair for 200 but they’re 10s and I wear a 10.5 shoe. Will they be comfortable or tight on my foot?

IMO they run true to size and lean a little to the narrow side. - Van

I really like these boots but how cool can they keep your feet with only one air intake? You say that having the air intake at the toe end the air will drive much better into the boot and circulate around the boot and keep your feet nice and cool.I live in Vietnam where it is warm, bloody hot some times, will this air intake do its job? Also how good is the boot leather for breathing, is it the same as real leather? As for sizing I have a pair Icon Field Armor 2 boots in a size 45 and they fit spot on, if anything I could go 1/2 size down as there is some spare room around the toes. What size should I order in for the Sidi Mag 1. I will have stop watching your videos because every time you show a new product I want to get it!

My question why actually this isnt a strait replacement. Is there a drawback at all?

What do you mean exactly? This boot is completely different than the Vortice and now Sidi just has two different options for a top end race boot. ~Aubrey

The only bad part is that the sole is not replaceable like on the vortice :(

Would definitely make the perfect replacement for the Vortice if the sole was replaceable. But having two different types of high end boots aint bad either, gives people choice to choose this or the vortice in the end.

No ankle roll protection?

All of the ankle bracing is on the interior of the boot, as opposed to the exterior. ~Aubrey

Brian Van Even though the Vortice seem bulkier with its ankle roll/torsion control brace it had been very protective in any offs I have experienced. This new boot is a beautiful looking boot. But Think it looks on par as far as protection (side ankle impact) with the Vertigo.

the trouble of this review - is you don't show the easy of getting the boot on - or prossibly it isn't???

That wouldn't be easy to show in video and a brand new boot might be a bit difficult to get on just from being stiff. However, this is not a difficult boot to wear or get on each time you need to wear it. ~Aubrey
