Hello, Welcome to this tutorial of our Siemens Totally Integrated Automation, in this tutorial we gonna connect our PLCSim to an OPC Server using NetToPLCSim and KepServer, and we are using it to send data from plcsim to the server, and reading the data from the KepServer quick client, hope you like it.

Hi, I followed the exactly same procedure, but I keep getting "no tcp/ip reachable PLC detected, please check if plcsim is running", does it have to do with my using AWS EC2 windows?

Thanks for the tutorial. I keep getting 'unable to read data from device' error after following all the details. I am running my apps on a virtual machine, using an s7-1200 PLC. Could this be the problem?

Hi! I have TIA Portal, PLCSIM and NettoPLCSIM installed on a guest machine and kepserverex running on a host. I can ping my guest nics ip from host, however kepserverex keeps telling that connection is bad. Any help much appreciated.

i couldn't see my tags in kep server , but after restarting computer , it worked , i guess you need to do it to restart kep server demo license after 2 hours of use

Thank you for the great tutorial. Can you please tell me if there is any option to store the values of boolean inputs and outputs in a certain time range. For example, if I want to see later that in some specific 5 mins, which inputs and outputs were high or low. Is this possible to record this from TIA portal or by some other way? Thank you

Hi, thanks, well you can do some data logging, I have a tutorial about that using Access or Excel if you want to check them. Or you can try Archives (I don't have a tutorial about it for the moment).

@@SurtrTech Thank you for the timely reply. I have checked the excel tutorial but it's not showing any timestamp with the changing value. Can you please make a small tutorial about it. Your help will be highly appreciated. Thank you

@@manzarkazmi3658 You can see the Access method, it permits you to add the timestamp easily, I'm sorry I can't do Tia portal tutorials for the moment, but I can recommend you this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3i1igeTPwGw.html and try "Storage location" as "Text file" its more simple. I'll try to do a tutorial as soon as possible, sorry for the inconvenience. Good luck

@@SurtrTech One more question, Have you tried OPC communication using Siemens ET200SP? I tried with S7300, it worked perfectly because of your tutorial. Now I wanted to try it with ET200SP but it's not working. So do you know something about it? Thank you

Hi sir, in my laptop there is no lan port so I can't install a Ethernet driver, what I will do, should I buy a USB to Ethernet module?? Plz give a response

When configuring a new channel, select the network adapter it has a local IP address like 192.168.x.y .. try to activate the LAN port if possible by connecting the PC to the router via ethernet

I don't know if you can connect directly, but you can connect both on a server, kepserver for example

I didn't understand what you meant. The PLCSim local IP Address can be configured from TIA Portal, then in the NetToPLCSim you just connect that address with the local network adapter IP Address

In Net to PLC Sim it is showing Network and plc sim address blank even though plc sim is running could you please regarding it

Hello, try to run evrything as administrator, if the address doesn't show up you can write it there, the address can be found at the bottom right of PLCSim.

@@SurtrTech communication is done however in kepware opc client all my created tags quality is showing as BAD i am not able to understand why i send picture of it to you on facebook msg.

Man but that is not OPC UA - you are using Siemens TCP default protocol to search tags. In that list instead Siemens TCP you must use OPC UA .. and then you are using OPC UA. It's normal to discover tags since you are using siemens' protocol ..
