SIERRA BURGESS IS A LOSER? HM I AGREE 

what i hate the most is probably the fact that sierra was a horrible person yet she still got what she wanted in the end

sierra : doesn't even bother to wipe toothpaste off her face because she's QuIrKy, even though it's basic hygiene also sierra :"boys don't like me cuz i'm ugly wah :("

my biggest problem with this movie is sierra literally kissing jamey without his consent.. that and her pretending to be deaf. literally she's done awful things but faces no consequences in the end that's messed up.

*Spoilers. The character that actually developed and who I grew to like the most was Veronica. I had major problems with the Sierra character. She lies, humiliates a good friend out of jealousy, and yet excuses it all because she doesn’t meet society’s expectations of beauty? She plays the victim card too much. So a girl with low self-esteem does horrible things, and then all is good when the guy she likes becomes her boyfriend. Also, the movie literally has one deaf character in order to have a dumb scene where she pretends to be deaf. Wow

“I’m ugly... Boys don’t like me... I’m not popular...” **Sits by herself and catfishes guys** i WoNdEr WHy??

i would’ve preferred it if Veronica and Jamey ended up together at the end. Sierra didn’t deserve him oop!

Sierra starts the movie as a confident (the mirror scene), intelligent (obviously) and bold (her response to Veronica in the Bathroom) girl and somehow her character regresses to an insecure, mean human being that gets forgiveness (without actually saying I'm sorry) because she sings a song, like wtf.

"Are you a catfish? Or a *C A N ' T* fish?" The best line in the whole movie, besides "the end"

loved the fact that the mean girl of the film got this great character development 🤠 i need more of that

Main issues with this movie: A) She pretends to have a handicap B) She kisses him without his consent C) She doesn’t deal with the consequences of her actions and instead blames it on her insecurities The last one especially irks me because when she comes home sobbing she claims to be upset about her body but that kind of had nothing to do with what was going on or why she was actually sobbing? Like she did something wrong yet she’s throwing the pity party. It just seemed extremely out of place if anything. And on top of that, she gets people to forgive her, not by apologizing, but instead writing a song about how she feels about the situation and why she did it and pretending that she’s the victim when she really isn’t. She has the right to express how she feels but she needs to own up to her mistakes and apologize! This movie could’ve been amazing but they fucked it up so badly that it just doesn’t even make sense. Edit: hi it’s me from the future here is something I think they could’ve done better: if they had established that her character was insecure in the beginning and it played into why she was catfishing him it would’ve been much better and if she owned up to her mistakes and apologized and later wrote the song explaining how she feels it would make so much more sense because apologies can have explanations as well.

when i watched the trailer ngl i was excited cause for once the plus sized main character is being potrayed normally, but when i watch the movie,, let me tell yall,, sierra burgess really IS a loser. veronica's character development arc was great she should end up w jamey

I honestly have not hated a film more, Sierra does so many wrong and illegal things but no one seems to care, dude if the roles were reversed people would freak and say like sexual harassment because of the kiss! like not okay

But in all honesty Veronica was the true star of this movie and was a better person than Sierra in the end. Veronica should not have forgave Sierra but she did and especially after what Sierra did that says a lot about Veronica. Everyone out here thinking Jake Paul is a sociopath but they should be thinking "holy shit Sierra Burgess is not only a loser but a sociopath" Also Jamey deserves better as well. So does Sierras other friend Dan.

Reminds me of that episode of Catfish where the girl catfish wanted to stay friends with the guy after she was exposed and he refused, and she was like "yeah I lied about who I was and having cancer but everything else was the real me, why won't u give me a chance" LMAO. Plus, it was the second time she had catfished him and she was acting like a victim because he didn't want to be friends. Some girls are really crazy out there

I actually don't like this. The pretty one actually had a decent personality and was understandable, but the one who was overweight was actually the one with a wicked attitude. I hate that the pretty girl forgave her so easily.

i watched this because i love noah centineo and shannon purser, but i really wasn’t a huge fan of this movie. i didn’t like how Sierra did so many awful things and then was like “well i’m ugly so its not my fault”. idk, it was just weird to me.

the worst thing about this movie was when sierra kisses jamey without his consent that’s literally sexual harassment but the movie portrays it as this romantic thing. also her pretending to be deaf and when she did all these terrible things and essentially ruined veronica’s life and she gets this perfect happy ending just because she wrote a self-pity song? tbh veronica was the one i was rooting for at the end of the movie

HONESTLY. This movie reminds me of an old female "friend" i had in college. She was over-weight too and lied a lot, making up rumours but crying that she had no friends making people pity her. She was jealous because i was really good friends with the guy she liked (she even admitted to), she tried tearing us apart but in the end she stood alone and i've never heard of her again.

How did he not feel that he wasn’t kissing Veronica? No offense but her and Sierra’s facial structures couldn’t be more different.

This movie is so dumb and it made the "bad character" more likeable than the protagonist. 1stly pretending to be deaf is all kinds of messed up. 2ndly cat fishing is wrong and it's even worse when you kiss someone without their consent, thinking that you were someone else. 3rdly if Veronica didn't kiss him she would of given away her whole plan in the first place she was trying to help her out. Lastly how does the worst character in the movie get away with all of this because she's not "pretty". Her apology was just a song that she didn't even give to him in the end Veronica did even after sierra literally went behind her back to embarrass her in front of the whole school. She gets the guy (which I like more with Veronica anyways), everybody forgives her and she gets away with cat fishing, backstabbing, lying just because she's "ugly" which I really don't believe she is.

In my ****expert**** opinion, there were so many moments in the film that contradicted/hindered the film's purpose of portraying strong PC individuals lol and honestly I think a lot of the shitty moments (i.e. ruining the whole plot suddenly with the public Veronica-shaming RIGHT at the end, faking the date) could've been solved with Veronica and Sierra getting together instead. They had better chemistry tbh and Jamey was literally nothing
