Like just cause she's his friend she can't make her own decisions if they make him feel even irrationally awkward. It's like a toxic relationship but they aren't together or even have romantic feelings for each other, it's so weird I mean it wouldn't make his actions okay but if her friend actually had feelings for her it would at least make sense that he's so turnt over her liking his own brother. Like that would at least be a realistic

Not that I like this movie, but I do have to give credit where it’s due. They provided him with an actual character flaw, being ridiculously insecure because they established throughout the movie that he is constantly in his brothers shadow and his brother is seen as better than him. It’s less toxic than you’d think, she knew her friend is absolutely terrified of losing her to his brother and instead of actually reassuring him she just dated him in secret.

Shuuguur & Tea True, but the fact that he sorta sees his friend as an object (not sure if this is the right choice of words) is a bit unsettling. She is her own her own person. She can choose date anyone. She’s not something you can “keep away” from your brother. I can understand not wanting to lose to his brother to an extent, but it’s just unfair and crazy.

That’s his “best friend” but at the party she got wasted started stripping on the table in front of everyone and he just laughed. She almost fell and than just disappeared and he didn’t even try to figure out where she went.

And can we talk about the privilege that he has? I mean he assaulted like ten people in this movie alone, and still somehow got into an ivy league college. How sway? How has he not been kicked out of school, and had charges brought against him with all that violence? Lord.

It was a big deal when they first kissed on top of the Ferris wheel because it took awhile to figure out who Simon was talking to on the computer so it was a big shock that it was him.
