Some State officials are nervous? Good. For once they are paying attention. I have written in here before that Mammoth Lakes means a lot to my family. And has for various reasons since the early 1950s. I like your channel. First I will say, almost entirely good language. I like that you give a good breadth of coverage. Snow situations, you seem to take care of your crew, you take care of your equipment, the fire department got some attention, the conservation camp inmates were included and so much more. When I was little there was NO fire department. So I am glad to see them established and on target. (I have done a lot of firefighting too.) And you keep an eye on the weather for us. You do good work and I appreciate your efforts.

Here in WISCONSIN, it costs me $60 each time they clear my 2 car driveway from the street to the garage (over 3 inches). I don't think that I will ever complain about the price again, compared to someone up there having to pay for clearing one (let alone a $3000 roof job).

Look into getting tireject to put in your loader tires. It seals mostly anything you will run over. It can be used as a preventative or a fix. You won’t have to worry about tires anymore. It’s a little pricey but for what you do not having any down time, it’s definitely worth looking into.

The snow loading on all of those roofs with rain to come. They are saying that we will have above normal precipitation through March. I used to think that it would be fun to live up in the mountains where the snow sticks all winter long. It’s so hot in the summer if you live in the foothills and the fire risks are high everywhere you go unless it’s super humid in the summer. It’s easy, no place is ideal unless you can afford to have homes in every climate.

13:11 that USAR unit was deployed to your area from Chula Vista FD outside San Diego. That is part of the national emergency response system, and is a result of the aid your community requested. That unit should be equipped with rope, water, and fire rescue equipment + a lot more and structure collapse supplies. Very rare to see it in the mountains, and surprising. I would have figured the task force deployed in 4x4 pickups that they added their cache to among shovels and other snow specific equipment. Hope that is one of many units deployed to the regions most impacted by the weather.

I can tell you haven't been here very long. First, that isn't a Sierra Wave cloud, they happen typically in the summer with high winds aloft. When you see one, you will know it! Secondly and with regard to flooding (snow melt is a gradual thing) - we don't heat up rapidly here they way it does in Southern California, yes we will see the streams rise and may exceed flood stage but it is really minor compared to when heavily rains are occurring at the lower elevations of the Sierras. Nice visual on all the snow pack we have seen and experienced these conditions before.
