Today was our first day back Trucking in quite a while. We had four trucks running today. Got out somewhere around 75 loads to the pit. Got to drown out. It was a nice sunny day. Did a couple flights. Everything went fairly smooth. Check it out and see how the day went.

All I can say is, you are a hard working person. Running all these crews dealing with all the equipment issues, people issues, customer issues , then recording and editing these videos. Which are extremely good. You are certainly someone to respect 👍👍 keep it coming.

Hey my friend ! You ABSOLUTELY need the LINK IT mini conveyors for the large flat roofs. No need to push the snow down the roof. Just dig a trench and place all the linked conveyors in the trench. Then all the shovelers put the snow on the belt. When the snow is too far, then transfer the conveyors closer to the snow. You save time and effort. Your team will thank you and they will be available for another job faster. These conveyors can be handled by two workers easily, you can link several conveyors and reach a long distance effortless. Wish you an early summer !!!

Hi there I have lived in 4 season places most of my life So I wish to mention a snow saw and a snow sled to dump em off the roof really good for a flat roof or a low slope roof ( much faster and you do not lift much) I hope this helps Mr. Kimbel Wiese I am now 71 years old.

I can feel the plywood bend when I walk on my roof so it for sure would have been toast if it had that kind of snow load. California has so many code regulations to keep you safe under their tit, that it's prolly required for oddities in the trusses. .

Looking at the roof at JUNIER SPRINGS, you have to ask WHAT WERE THEY WAITING FOR? In some places that snow is 2 or 3 times higher than the men working there to clear it off. Also. they have to think about not using flat roofs! If they at least could have a slope to them you could push it off a little easier. And then they have to throw it over the 5 foot high parapet walls--a definite orb buster. At least having a section without them would allow you to push if off the side instead of heaving it over them

The scale of the amount of snow that needs to be cleared is mind boggling. Glad to see that the snow is being trucked out as there is just nowhere to stack any more snow. It's too bad that the snow can't be removed in the way that the city of Montreal does it with and plows, graders, a giant wheel loader mounted snowblower and a fleet of dump trucks. Using the snowblower to load allows for more snow to be packed into a smaller space. I just hope that the spring thaw comes slowly and that flooding won't be a problem.

Very impressive! I used to own a landscaping company in the 90s-early 2000s and did commercial snow removal in central Iowa and I've NEVER seen any snow like this in all my years of doing this work. The weight of all that snow on those roofs has got to be insane! Hoping the heat kicks in and gets that melting quick for you - oh and that brings up an interesting point; Have you seen those LP snow melters? The endloaders pull up, dump their buckets and the burners melt the snow very fast and I wonder if that would be an efficient manner of disposal? Melt it and let gravity take the water downhill to a stream?

I am curious what are your thoughts on the future of construction in mammoth. Do you think there is any possible way to build structures to accommodate these storms. Make clearing more efficient as far as structures that have flat roofs or no snow roof systems? I know A frame buildings are great with deflecting snow but what are your thoughts?
@optimoprimo132

Really these giant flat roofs should be heated being in the mountains. I could be wrong because that is a ton of snow but I have seen heated driveways keep deep snow cleared even if it takes a full 24 hrs. Its Russian roulette whether the roof can keep from collapsing with the weight of sierra cement piling up.

A flat roof on Vons may work fine in San Diego but who thought it would be just ducky in snow country? Ski resorts are typically places that get lots of snow in case any architect didn't know that. 🤣
@briane173
@briane173 Год назад
Add to that the problem of Long Valley and Mammoth Lakes sitting in earthquake country -- a _massive_ caldera and dome complex that is still active. Architectural engineers have to account for both snow load _and_ seismic risk along with volcanism and the escaping gases that come with that. That roof is either wall-to-wall cross-bed 16" I-beam with pillars every 15 ft OR, that thing could collapse without warning. I'd be curious to see how the walls and roof were engineered, because I would _never_ build a flat-roof _anything_ in Mammoth Lakes. They just get too much snow in that one spot every winter.
