I am trying to get my hands on one of these to do a full review on. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your review with the rest of us. Stay Safe! 🤗🥳😎👮🏻♂️👍🇺🇸. Beretta Sr.
I have the P226 and P229 Legions and I really want the P220 in 10mm. I agree with you about not using the slide stop to release the slide. As a lefty, most pistols aren’t made for me anyway so I learned to slingshot the slide. The 10mm P220 looks like a winner!
I have a couple shooting videos on here with the P220 10mm and it is a work horse. I have been impressed with the pistol this far. I currently am carrying it in a Wright Leather Works IWB Banshee holster.
I Love mine. The P220 10mm is the finest gun I have ever owned. Just a pleasure to shoot. The balance is very good, the trigger is excellent and the felt recoil is so low you can shoot this gun all day. I have larger hands so this gun feels like it was made just for me. If you have small hands you might want to get your hands on one before you buy. If you appreciate a well-made and refined firearm this one will put a smile on your face!
I just sold mine. It was the double action with the PVD finish. I managed to find an SAO with the new cerakote finish on gun broker, I paid a hefty price for it but its exactly what I wanted and in my opinion the Sig P220 in 10mm is the #1 go to gun in the world, single or double action. Lots of people think 9mm is better because of the capacity, I respectfully disagree.
No doubt! I just absolutely love this firearm. I have a sao from Lipseys in all matte stainless with rosewood grips and it’s a work of art. It’s by far more accurate than I’ll ever be, the most fun pistol I’ve ever shot.
I have a .45 Legion. The slide catch was impossible to release. After a an couple hours at the range it “broke in” and I can easily release the slide catch with my thumb. Just keep checking it as you use it. Should get better
Definitely a carry series 4 a large firearm like this. I'm kind of on the fence about buying this particular firearm though I've looked at it several times over the last couple years. .
I have carried this pistol everyday for the past 7 days and it is perfect for carry in the right holster and with the right belt. I am using the Wright Leather Works Banshee Holster and a Liberty Gun Belt, as well as a Craft Holster Leather Gun belt. This pistol shoots amazingly. For me a carry gun needs to be the pistol I shoot the best and am the most comfortable with, while maintaining attributes necessary for a carry gun. You can not argue with a 10mm either.
Skip to 3:17. Before that it's bla bla bla cover my ass from people disagreeing abut what I may say (shouldn't matter, they're your thoughts you shared based on your experiences). Then he gets on with it & it's interesting. Looks like an awesome gun and good video, after that.
Exactly! We didn't need to hear about "my student". The content is good but the pompass and overly confident attitude made listening nauseating and difficult.
I own one of these pistols also the guy talkin about the slide latch must understand that perhaps due to the fact that this is a German gun that the Europeans do not wrap their pistols using a slide release and when you mention slide stop this is precisely correct this is only a slide stop and not a slide release you're supposed to release it with your hand so that guy was talkin things without knowledge
Is there a breaking period with these? Am I the only person on the internet that has had a malfunction with one of these (legion)? Only one with ammo Inc. 170 rds first time out. Any thoughts?
Could have been but again I would go with an ammo issue. I have found the Sig Sauer factory magazines especially for the P220 and the P226 lineup to be pretty flawless. Now obviously an error or an exception can occur within that. But some 10mm ammo in tighter fitted guns like the P220 legion may cause issues. But either way if it was only once I wouldn’t even give it another thought.
Not sure I want a 145 grain in 10mm. My woods gun has 200-220 grain 10mm. Bears are big in Florida, and since black bear are kinda docile, people feed them then they no longer go the other way when you run into one.....just an opinion from an old man in Florida. Great Gun, I definitely want one for sure. I want to replace my Delta elite and use the sig as a every day carry gun
I think the 145gr is phenomenal for any animal I could encounter on this part of the globe. I have carried this pistol for a long time and would highly recommend it.
If I remember my ballistics correctly, isn't a 145 grain less than a standard .40 Cal (155-165 grain)? I understand you like it, just not for me, not in a 10mm. Your best just doesn't work as my best is all. But great presentation,
Absolutely to each their own. But the light weight 10mm rounds from G9Ammo are not the same as the 40SW rounds. These are traveling at 1400fps. Thanks for watching!
@@shootingitwiththesarge yes I'm actually looking at may be ordering some I want to give them a try. I have a 10 mm carbine that loves rounds like that.
Good overview. Thanks for sharing. I have my eyes on a Legion 10mm SAO as my first handgun for home defense and wear/carry in the near future. I’m not sure if Sig discontinued the SA/DA 10mm Legions or if I simply cannot find them. But I was curious if you believe there are any big disadvantages to SAO handguns. Thanks for any input.
I appreciate that. That is a decision you would have to make based off of your life circumstances. For me 10mm works. I can find a large amount of it at my local stores so it is accessible. I would hate to have a Firearm and rely 100% on the Internet to get the ammunition. But as always you should keep a good amount of any ammunition you use.
I would say It depends on the pistol. If you are asking DA/SA or a 1911. Id pick a 1911. If you are asking a Legion or Sig P series in SAO, I would choose the DA/SA.
My two issues with this beautiful gun are the forward serrations and the grey finish. However, if I can afford to buy one, I probably would get over these issues. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to purchase extra springs and barrels as well as magazines. Great review.
Hate to tell everyone but SIG decided to replace the rear sight of the X-ray sights recently .....and it sucks. I ordered a set for a German 228 girl I picked up recently. I ordered the x-ray sights for it and expected the same sights that I have on my Legions, P365 and other SIG's....I got the same front sight marked TG3 but the rear was different. Its dimmer, recessed in a concave recess and has so much glue over the sight that it cuts the brightness of the tritium to half. I am PISSED. I called SIG and they didnt seem to give 2 shits but offered me to send the slide back to have it "evaluated"..... I called TruGlo, who makes the SIG X-ray sights and they told me its "proprietary" to SIG and they cannot sell me that exact sight. ....
