In this episode, Dave and Evelyn review the Sigma 10-18mm f2.8 DC DN Contemporary lens. It's primarily designed for cropped sensor cameras such as the Sony A6700, and Fujifilm X-Series, and is also available in L-mount for Sigma, Panasonic, and Leica.

Just got my copy and trying it out. Putting on the lens hood facing forward is straight forward enough. Reversing it to place in my bag I’m finding more tricky. Still not sure how to do it. Great pairing with the 18-50/2.8 DC DN C zoom that I found used for my new A6700. Should make a great travel pair.

I'd like to see a review for the Fuji X mount. I recently got the new Sigma 23mm f1.4 for Fuji and the 56mm f1.4. They really fit and work well with my Fuji bodies. I could be tempted by this w/a zoom.

Thanks for the video. Do you think 10-18 is comparable to 16-35 GM's quality or sharpness? especially in 16mm and 24mm.

hello good video can you make a comparison with the Tamron 11-20 mm?.. thank you

I prefer a rotating lock on a lens hood, but Sigma continues to produce affordable, high-quality lenses.

Hyped for this, but for some reason the Australian price is double what the sister optic, the 18-50mm dc dn, cost so it starts to compete with the ART 20mm and the Lumix S 18mm

The lack of weather sealing on sigma’s contemporary lenses just makes it so hard to justify. The Tamron 11-20 is a little bigger, a little more expensive, and not as wide but the weather sealing makes it much safer to use!

Sigma Contemporary lenses do have weather-sealing; it's just not as comprehensive as the ART and Sports-lines. Andy Mumford has used totally unsealed Fuji lenses for years under harsh and wet conditions without any problems and Sigma lenses are much better built than Fuji lenses, so it's unlikely to be a problem.

Currently we are using the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II thecamerastore.com/products/sony-fe-24-70mm-f2-8-gm-ii?_pos=2&_sid=26bf7487d&_ss=r

I used to be the Uncle at the family gatherings with the camera, annoying everyone. Now I never take my camera to events like family gatherings. I know have to find reasons to take my camera as my phone does 90% if what my camera can do. Sports and low light are still the hold outs

Getting this for my Fuji, I'm tired of Sony's garbage gmaster lenses. I've had my 90mm and my 16-35mm full frame motors die and my second purchase of the 16-35 is in for repairs a second time in less than a year because it stopped producing sharp images the further you get to the 35mm side of it even in manual focus.

Sigma either knows somebody in the L-mount alliance is bringing out an APS-C body, or their claim about not producing any more MFT mount lenses due to a small user base was a flat out lie. The TL-mount (APS-C L-mount, the original) cameras from Leica were a total flop due to them coming out after camera makers, including Leica, had basically engrained into all the moronic influencers and sheep followers that crop sensor can only be used for a few niche cases or by beginners/poor people. I have a CL that I love, I got it complete with box for 800 USD mint when they were somewhere at the low point in value, but most people will turn their nose at it purely because of the sensor. There's no way there's more TL users than MFT in the wild, so why does Sigma make an L-mount version that is different enough in flange distance to require more than swapping a mount ring? The only L-mount camera that would maintain enough resolution after doing an APS-C crop that people would actually buy cheaper lenses for is the fp L... which is also kind of a flop... again mostly do bad press over actual use cases (if they brought out a line of leaf shutter lenses aimed at the fp L it would be one of the best stills camera for the money at this point). Here's hoping they release a CMOS based Quattro chopped down for the L-mount flange using the same type of sensor package as the fp L focus wise, but with the fp's resolution and even faster readout due to size. I'd actually preorder that to be a companion for my CL that I could actually daily without too much fear of replacing.

There's still a place for APS-C lenses on full-frame cameras, though - especially for high-speed video, or when agility is more important than raw power. I have the TL2 which is beautiful and fun, so I'm glad they're supporting it. The L-mount is Sigma's NATIVE mount now, so they will release everything in that mount, just as they did with the SA-mount. It sucks that they dropped m4/3, but that was the trade-off to support Fuji, basically.

I'm so confused why anyone would ever buy products from you. Your prices are literally thousands of dollars over MSRP. Leica Q3 $8100? You can order it direct from Leica or B&H for $6,000. Canon R5 $4,799? Canon is selling that camera body for $3,399. How can you possibly justify your ridiculous pricing?
