The Double Chens discuss an article from cosmopolitan magazine on Signs He's Serious About Your Relationship. Also, We talk about an article about things that no longer mater after the age 25.
You guys are such down to Earth people and give such good advices. I'm in college, and sometimes, I feel that people around me can be so immature and shallow (though, still better than high school).
I completely agree with you guys because I view dating exactly like you guys. And it can be frustrating sometimes because people my age don't see eye to eye on this matter with me.
Mike, I love your shirt. That's exactly how you pick up chicks. Saw that shirt from your other video on how to make oil pepper and totally forgot to compliment on how good you look with the shirt. ❤️:)3
I would've thought (this depends on what kind of guy you are) openly crying and talking about your feelings towards your girlfriend would make your relationship serious. The other cosmo point make sense, but seems like a normal thing to do whenever you're in a relationship. But indeed, people nowadays date just for the dating not really to build up a standing relationship. Yet another amusing doublechenshow. I enjoyed it!! Thumbs up guys! :)
I have a few friends to almost no friends so every weekend I just sit at home doing nothing but on my iPhone watching RU-vid videos (The Double Chen) wink wink!!! I'm was always the "not so cool kid" in high school and classmates (Cool kids) would make fun of me. However, my grade was always better than their brand name clothes and shoes. Megan is always above the influence and never get into trouble in HS👍 In college I met an old lady and she was my only friend although I had many classmates around my age. I just like to hang around older people more because I like their positive attitudes and learn more from them.
I will say that even with grad school, you can get past GPA- most of the people who were getting accepted in my university were all stellar students with around 4.0 and I was definitely not but, I had the job and real life experience most of them didn't have plus, both of my supervisors (one was the dean of biology) vouched for me ^^ so its possible. Also, I agree about the dating part- I am not a serial dater, even when I liked someone (we were "friends" first but, the kind of friends that you both like each other but, don't know how the other feels haha)- all my friends were seeing multiple guys, so I thought about maybe if I could do the same.. nope lol turns out, when I am interested in one person, that is the only person that matters to me and eventually we just talked about how we thought the same (weren't interested in others) so it became a relationship.
For me, material things no longer hold much value (i.e. having the latest technology, brands, etc). Meaningful experiences and looking after ones' own health (plus friends and family) are priority. Especially with the stresses we have these days, mental health is something we really need to take care of.
I had a 2.63 when I graduated from undergrad. I got into Johns Hopkins for my MBA, so a bad GPA won't kill you. When applying to grad school, it helps a lot to have gotten a lot of accomplishments in the workplace.
I agree that GPA does not matter but I would say that depending on which minor you have it could help you. This is specifically true when the minor lets a future employer know that you have experience with a particular skill. For example, I have a minor in computer science. Considering my major was math, I find that a prospective employer seeing that I have great problem solving and critical thinking skills (from the degree in math) and some experience with programming and computers is a benefit to getting an entry level job in a computer science related field. The job market is tough out there no matter what your degree is in and many times your first job out of college is not going to be in your ideal career. You can use your minor to help you get a job/career after you are 25.
21 but I totally relate to the old man thing in the sense I dont stay out late, dont club/party or drink... I work so if im not working on the weekend I like to stay up a little later, sleep a little later, do the housework & jam out. Relaxing always makes for a good weekend lool
An exception, college GPA also matters if you go into teaching because districts not only want your degree and credential.but your transcripts too. Also, I know two guys who majored in English in college and ended up getting jobs related to their minors (Chemistry and Biology respectively.)
Not hearing from a gf/bf during the work day is normal but 24 hours is a sign of the other is telling you something. Most likely they are hiding something.
So I am near 22 and basically all if those thisn apply to me. I don't drink, do nights out, my Fridays and Saturdays are just another day and I don't care what anyone thinks. Problem is I find it hard to date anyone. Like guys my age don't want a serious relationship. Or they are too immature. so I have to look at guys that's are like 30... But because I actually look 17 it's hard :( I've been single for nearly 5 years now. Although with all that said I generally enjoy bring single and loving myself. I just miss the cuddles !
I know your pain though I'm 21 and guys only care about drinking and getting into as many vaginas as possible. my boyfriend is 26 and he's perfectly mature for me. i hate immature people so much though
Hi there! Mike, I knew you were an accounting major. But I never knew you were a had a finance minor as well. I'm 18 and going to be in my second year of college next Fall. I am also a pending accounting major and finance minor. I am planning, hopefully, to graduate from the undergraduate program and go on to get my Master's in accounting and become a CPA. Do you have any advice for me? Thank you.
The GPA doesn't matter right after college for certain internships/jobs. I knew a girl who didn't have a good gpa and she got 5 job offers in the finance field (one brokerage, one futures, I don't know the rest)...she went into brokerage, got her 7 & 63, opened 20 accounts for the firm and opened at least 6 accounts of her own. (accounts=people open an account in your firm and invests money as you advise)...but you're better off keeping your gpa good
I wonder if it's only in the United States. Because, here my program is you NEED an education minor to be a teacher, and you can major in whatever else you choose. Like, specialty. (You know, if you wanna be a math teacher, most likely you major in math)
I have been idolizing you guys! your videos are great! I totally can relate! and this is the first time I have ever commented in a video! wooyoo :) Hoping to meet you guys in real life!
From what you described in topic two about not caring about how others perceive you, having the most expensive things and so on, certainly don't matter to me at all! And the funny fact being that I've yet to turn 20 :D I suppose my mental age is the same as you guys :O
I like reading Cosmopolitan because it gets me into the female mind frame so that I can be more receptive to their needs, wants and concerns. Plus, I occasionally enjoy a nice sex quiz!
can you do an episode about how to get a flat stomach (for health!)? really about how to stay healthy. for someone who is extremely unfit and knows nothing about the gym or how to work any of the machines, it would be so helpful to get practical advice rather than just have someone to tell you to hit the gym
If you've had a long day of work and are tired, you can forget to check in because he's not her keeper. She might just go to sleep and may call the next morning
I'm 21 I don't even care about I think almost all of those things.. Especially the weekend thing or w/e. The tech thing.. same. I just got my first smartphone because it's been hard financially since forever and it's just not important, a cheap phone works fine. (and b/c video games always take priority). Facebook is only good to keep in touch with friends in other cities/countries that, yes, I have met and hung out with in real life.
GPA matters if you're going into graduate school. It matters SO MUCH. Also, you guys said no one cares what you do in college. They DO care if you post a ton of photos to the internet of you binge drinking or partying like crazy.
Do not trust Cosmopolitan magazine. Also, popularity doesn't matter the moment you get out of highschool. What matters is the connections that you make with important people. Networking helps so much, it really beefs up your resume.
Hey guys, I was wondering if you give me an advice. I'm in love with my Chinese friend for like four years already..I have yet to confess to her..She mention that her parents hates Whites and Hispanics the most because they're different cultures and not informed with the Chinese Culture and wants her to date a Chinese or Indian guy instead. I'm actually half Hispanic, little bit of White and Chinese. How can I get her parents to allow me to date her? ;-;
I've watched a lot of these videos, and I would like to date someone like Mike. He's more affectionate and open with his feelings, which comes off as sincerity . Dan seems calculating and cold, which would make me nervous and frustrated. I crave affection; I need warmth.
OMGoddess ! you guys have it so together. So where can I find someone like you two, specially Mike though ,lol.. Darn' I been alone for so long that people think somethings wrong with me. I am like you guys I just don't date around. Guys I meet right away won't to try the milk before they buy the cow, if you know what I mean. To me that is not what makes a real man. Real man have that stuff under control, if not they are not men, but dogs........sorry but I don't give away free MILK. LOLGood topic, thank you.
Double Chen Hey Dan, I like you very well (Not to be GAY!!!!) because your pretty funny and your words are inspiring to other people which is great and good, but hopefully I get to see you guys and we'll have fun. And one question: Is your girlfriend Asian or Non-Asian???? (If its a non-asian, that's okay and I would pretty much suggest dating an AsianGirl because you would feel awesome to yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!^_^)
Mike: I think you seriously need to punch Dan in the face ᵔᴥᵔ Just kidding... I agree with +karen carranza's comment... you would be the best boyfriend
Haha, most of the things on the list i dont care about. Makeup? Natural is the way. Brands? The cheaper the better (has to have decent quality though). Honestly dont have a future though... Dan, i thought you were 35/36 due to your guilty pleasure movie list math i did and this zodiac vid with mia.
Aww I'm lucky boys don't bother me much nicer to have puppy they just love and love and need you mutters line out of great movie Hackers about humping and cocktail party's lol
Dan you dig your own grave.. LOL wow Dan taking your girlfriend to a weeding really mean business... well for me I think you are ready to tell your connection that she is your girl.. you guys do something that other guys might not do (watching show & opera).. that's a plus ..
