Highlight from a Silent Hunter III (2005) livestream dated 02-12-2022. Silent Hunter III is a fantastic U-Boat sim that I massively recommend. Especially with the "Grey Wolves" expansion.
Really? I just thought that Santa was a middle aged Brexit born, that shanks people and steals their stuff just to get high with eggnog and snort cookies.
Back in HQ: "Sir, one of our uboats have returned!" "Excellent, prepare a welcoming party in their honor" "Sir, it's being helmed by Oberleutenant Womble!" "....brace for impact"
I imagine a living room in one of the houses in that town when the terrible screeching starts and the wife runs into the room "what is that that noise?! are we under attack?!" and the husband puts down the newspaper and takes out his pipe staring wistfully into the distance: "the U-108 is back..."
Womble was a war hero, show some respect. He sunk more Nazi vessels than anyone else in the entire battle of the Atlantic. He was the worst captain the Kriegsmarine ever had.
The guy from The Forest video actually kidnapped Womble and stole his identity and his pool of videos in order to bless us with more content than Womble ever could or would be willing.
Ah, Womble's tried and true problem solving method on display in three easy steps: Create a problem through a miraculous lack of competence, coherent thought, and general awareness. Become distracted as the problem presents itself, removing any chance of preventing or solving it. Proceed to flail about madly while not understanding how things went wrong. In other words, it's good to have more womble videos.
I had the whole Das Boot experience with that game, only without the airplanes Played a legendary mission for 2 hours. Sank 3 ships with good tonnage. Finally went back to port. Lasted another half an hour to get there. Got in port. Rammed the dockyard. Sank. Mission lost.
Man, this just reminded me of that Silent Hunter stream where Womble ended up laughing uncontrollably for about 15 minutes after learning about that one U-boat that sank from a faulty toilet.
The toilet was working like it was supposed to, the issue was the Germans over engineered their way out of common sense in designing it and made it so overly complicated that some idiot was capable of flooding the sub if they flushed it incorrectly. Said idiot turned out to be the captain.
Womble trying to recreate the "sinking a train" as performed by the USS Barb (SS-220), not realizing that capt. Fluckey sent a landing party, not trying to bring the whole submarine on land.
It is customary upon launching Silent Hunter for the first time, to set a course out of the harbor and straight for the open sea... ...and then realizing that your crew isn't smart enough to plot a course around any osbatcles, so your first mission will end with your ship sinking, cause it ran into a conrete wall at full speed.
@@Iauchmitschlauch This exerts pressure on gearbox wheels and synchronizers and can ultimately damage them. Shouldn't happen if parking on a flat surface though.
The super loud and realistic(hundreds of kg of metal bending forcefully) collision sound in this game is actually amazing and like.. an actual incentive NOT to crash that many games ignore.
Womble arriving in port is like Jack Sparrow arriving in Port Royal for the first time: Him stepping of the periscope while the rest of the submarine is going on a Titanic Expedition
This video is 43 minutes old and it comes out just as I happened to have started playing Silent Hunter 3 as of about 4 days ago. I had Silent Hunter 4 as a kid, but the game mechanics went way over my little 6-year-old head. I thought about getting that again, but just about everyone said SH3 was better, so I got that instead. A few days later, and apparently Womble happens to be at it too.
"Helmsman, take us into port!" "Moving into port!" ^Submarine starts scraping the dock^ "Keep going . . You're good. . .You're good! Aaaaaand stop! Don't worry captain, we'll buff out those scratches!"
You know, somewhere, in the far reaches of the depths of space, there's a planetoid with a vacant operations base on it. The crew have long since abandoned their duties, found planets to settle on, passed away, or just simply do not attend this lonely outpost any further. Yet its fusion reactor operates endlessly in the cold darkness, its only function to provide power to a shield system that covers it...and rotates a giant 2d billboard of Cyanide's head.
I have been trying to tell Womble for ages, that his Silent Hunter playthrough makes for excellent content. Seriously man, you don't need to spend a million years in a video editor all the time. If something is funny of itself, you have your content right there. You were always a good editor, but people love your jokes because the humor is good. Having pixel perfect captions on screen is much less important.
I thought it was highlights from a 2005 stream due to reading the description too fast. But the best part is that I was willing to accept it as fact even if it seemed slightly confusing to me.
