Dude, your video is hilarious! I'm doing the same thing to a 2007 Yukon. What a pain in the a$$ to get that fitting into place!! I figured out the socket was my only hope too, but I'm still trying to get that slippery p.o.s in place! I've done tons of brake jobs in my life...first time I've had to do this repair. Your video was good justification that I'm not losing my f'in mind.
yes that was a pain... doing this stupid job. These are real suckers.I had this idea at the last one...If it made you laugh, i am happy with that. Thanks for watching and comment buddy . Regards
The easier way to get that small rubber bushing out from the inside is to use a drill bit that's slightly larger than the inner bushing diameter. Just stick it all the way in and pull it slowly.
Update: The old ones were just wedged in there. Took a flathead, small hammer, and not even 5min total to get four of them out. The new ones slid right in. Aside from one which was a bit larger that I had to hammer in. Collapsed the rubber flat and then placed an old brake pad over top. Easy! I didn't bother with the rubber inserts as they were in fair condition and had good hold still. Although one caliper was missing them altogether. Be sure to check!
NP. carb clean, then this one. Amazing product. I squeeze that under the piston boot. Makes retraction painless. And on the clips during install, doesn't attract soot. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qZ6Lb-aX0Mc.html
