I love these intelligent Silverbacks. I love seeing them and watching their actions, they are us. I hate seeing them so limited & caged😩 God Bless the Gorilla's 🙏💜
OMG these poor gorillas! You can see the boredom and depression in their eyes and every move they make. Why are places like this not closed down yet or made to change to enrich their lives!
The sadness and boredom on thier faces is so heartbreaking. Do they long to be amongst the trees of the forest? Do they dream about nesting in a soft bed of leaves? Would they love to be foraging in the jungle? Yes, i think the answer is yes. Are they totally miserable on these cold, hard slabs of concrete? Are ropes an interesting way to get around? Are these beautiful animals being mentally stimulated? No, sadly the answer is no.
In the wild they would be butchered for their heads and hands. Zoo gorillas are in breeding programs to beef up the population. The poachers are brutal.
No they're not being stimulated by the bored expressions Are the owners making loads of money keeping these magnificent animals prisoner? YES! And these are the luckier ones that aren't belong poached and killed too. Man has a lot to answer for in this world unfortunately 😢
Gorillas are being killed in the Congo for the bushmeat trade . Their lowland gorillas along with chimpanzees and monkeys are being killed and shipped all over the continent for consumers to eat. They are being hunted to extinction.
Oh, no! Why did you have to say it?! No, I'm being completely facetious when I say that. You're saying what's already in my heart. It really is so intensely sad. The kind of sad that chips away at you. Maybe this is incredibly stupid but since they're already in a controlled environment why can't they be provided with some form of mental stimulation? I don't mean a puzzle or solitaire or maybe I do, I don't know, but something to challenge their brains. They are such majestic, magnificent creatures.
This is so terrible that they’re trapped in that little area when they are wild animals meant to run, walk, swim and eat even play and communicate. We need more sanctuaries.
Well, not swim, but yes, it's terrible that humans are such a threat to virtually every other animal when they're in their natural habitat. Huge wildlife sanctuaries would be ideal, and, to be fair, some governments are trying to create some.
@@CatBrash Living in a prison being gawked at every day is hardly justifiable. We can build massive super computer farms. How about we put some of our resources towards treating our cousins humanely?! This is absolutely abhorrent.
Its a crime to keep these gorillas in a tiny enclosure like that. Bad enough for them to be forcibly locked up in any enclosure, let alone this one, but this is so sad. I couldn't watch, and I find it odd that anyone could be amused watching them, knowing their plight.
It’s a crime to keep those magnificent beings in a cement cage! They should have a natural habitat to roam with trees and grass and water pools! It’s a shame they aren’t safe in the Wild but keeping them in such an environment is truly cruel!
I don’t even want to think about how they captured them. I don’t like zoos that keep animals like this. It’s cruel and how would we like it if the tables were reversed?
@@blueshawll Can't think of her last name but Anna is her first, i was skeptical of her also at first but after watching a special about what she does and the proof that she is communicating it would be impossible for there to be any other explanation, the woman walks right into a troop of baboons and goes to the center and picks up a baby in front of the troop leader , sits down next to the leader he does nothing but sit there, she actually told him what she was going to do before hand he told her with a picture in her mind that that would be acceptable, she is known world wide, she had two great white sharks two breech the water at the same time fully breech, and said she would ask 1 min before once you see that you to will be a believer, she was ask to ask them to stop biting humans , they did they said human have disturbed their feeding places they do not like humans too salty, she lives in africa, and has a very good track record
This is basically prison.. Actually more like solitary confinement...should watch a video of a human explain what it's like to sit in solitary confinement for 48 hours...they go nuts 💁 just think how these guys feel being in it for life 😪😢 this is why humans are the most deadly, scary animal on this planet...we ourselfs kill more animals than any other animal has ever killed human beings. This is why I think humans are pieces of shit. Now there is a diffrence in what my ancestors did many years ago when they would hunt buffalo on the plains. Nowdays we trap our food in cages and then wait for it to get large enough to eat... Its because there are too many people on the planet. Also a reason why I dont buy my meat from the store. I have my own chickens that lay eggs for me but they are free range and get to live free also got their own pad lol but they can supply their own food and they are smart enough to stick around cause they know they are free and safe. But to trap an animal in a small cage, breed them to make more is wrong. If the wildlife can not sustain the human population then that means we have too many people not too little animals... 😒 stop the tourture, by declining our numbers. because cruelty like this won't stop until we dont need to support as many mouths...
You can really see the intelligence in their eyes and their behavior is so similar to ours in so many ways. But actually they’re more kind to each other than humans are to each other by far.
"and their behavior is so similar to ours in so many ways" Here's is evidence that their behaviour is not always so similar to ours: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hEsmFfTliqI.html You see? Look how _polite and patient_ this silverback is!
Not sure where these Gorilla's come from. I think from reading the information for the video's the most of them have been born in captivity. They would be destroyed by having to fight for space in the wild. if heir natural habitat in the Congo it is a war zone.
@@margaretlavender9647 I undestand that is the case but the congo is not. These Gorilla's were born in captivity and would be destroyed in the wild. They know of nothing else. They don't have to fight for the families space like they do in the wild and seem quite happy. They have the same look in their eyes in the wild. Elephants have a sad look in their eyes as well. Not sure but the one Silver back that could do sign language told of its parents getting killed by hunters.
What an appalling place for them to live. And people watching all the time. Have they an outdoor ‘enclosure’….another prison?? What country is this in?
I now know how those poor animals feel. I've been locked down in Auckland NZ for past three months and going absolutely mental. Those animals are bored and depressed.
@@maggiemessenger7921 I hear you, I did it for 5 mos straight in my apt. alone. It sucked, sorry for everyone who is under stress from it. The thing is, at least most of us were in our own homes, or somewhere familiar. These majestic beings are living in concrete cubes, nothing like their native surroundings. The lack of effort to create an environment to help their souls angers me, and this woman praising the work of this zoo is also deplorable. I've been to Japan, and loved so many things on my trip. The zoo was not one of them.
@@cherylross2718 it makes me weep watching caged animals. I know it can also save species. Some zoos try to make their enclosures more natural, but that Japanese zoo seemed to be all concrete.
Ah it’s Japan. The Far East where they eat pet animals. That explains it all. Disgusting. I’d rather die than visit such countries however beautiful the countries are. It’s people who make a country what it is, what it shows itself to be, to the world, and this is utterly disgraceful. Concrete concrete concrete…..
❤️❤️✅✅ absolutely!! Or whenever they cage any great Ape into those tiny cages or tie up those orangutans in the palm plantations....it makes me extremely mad. How can they do that. @@deondelduca714 with these beautiful babies and there ancestors have nearly been taken off our planet , with down to numbers that just a few years ago were at 3000 or less...listing them into the red, endanger list.....also research showed at this rate they had less than 10-15 years left maybe before they would do doubt, be completely wiped off the planet, killed for bushmeat , and having no where else to go that isnt in a war ridden area with milita groups, and sold for there hands to be made as ashtrays, meat for these poverity stricken people have to sale for meat or even eat for meat to stay alive, so much violence , civil unrest , because they only are found in the congo , with most having complete disregard for these beautiful animals , you know nothing about me, ok, so dont assume or speak at me disrespectful, instead if your so concerned work in conservation, do something besides be a keyboard warrior, no reasonable person loves to see them in a ZOO and also may I add that this zoo as far as to my knowledge as well as most of the zoos are part of the only conservation program we could come up with to ensure that when it is safe in a world one day to release them back into the natural habitat then hopefully they will be, unfortuantily that isnt a even reality, the rangers cant protect them and they havent been funded in over two years, since you obviously have time on your hands, researtch and team with the the re-wild conservation fund...ok....they could use all the help they can get, do something that matters, because personally attacking me....does nothing. GOD BLESS and your question/statement, is so vile, and so sicking, i do not even want to comment, about childern being in cages, it is disrespectful to the genocide that is happening literally to childern in cages at our borders , and we can go way back into history. Please , find some other constructive things to do with your life and time. I have already spent more time than i need to or will ever get back on this.
I just want to speak to any of those who are upset about seeing these beautiful babies at a zoo and not in the wild, please do your research, at one time putting them into a safe secure setting was the conservation program that us as people came up with because putting or keeping them into the wild WAS NOT condusive to them, and surely they wouldnt even be found anymore much like the tazmania tiger of the outback, here in the early 1900s......gone today, and has been for almost 100 yrs now, why...hunted to they are no more, i wish they could live side by side with us, free and from any harm, the eastern lowland gorilla is only found in the congo of Africia, Hunting them is illegal and they do have park rangers, however they havent been funded for over two years, those rangers have been working for free out of the love those few men have for them, Jan Godall is working with ReWild which has been currently working to get up funds for the rangers and also to sustain a better way than characoal mines , which is what this part of the world uses to heat , to cook , and maintain life, there is literally one power plant operating around the congo , and that is not enough to keep mining away, which causes loss of habitate and increases contact with humans, which want to hunt them , either to consum themselves, or to resell in market, because unfortuantly the people there are starving to dealth as well, They HOPE in about 10 yrs they will be able to have a few more power plants up and running and all the needed electric grid and wiring set up to be able to ensure around 90 percent of those in and around the congo have power which is how they are really being treatened now, through loss of habitat. No zoos arent the best option, and we all care and love these babies or we wouldnt even be watching yt videos about them, instead we would be streaming the old abusive videos of kids locked in cages.{..SMDH i cant even believe someone would say that} thats sick! this isnt the best option for them but unfortuantly , it was the option that has kept them from being just a memory at this point, until they can be put back into this world, free of harm, I honestly dont think people willl ever get better...hell they are getting worse. If it is an accredited facitity that is a part of the conservation and breeding program, support them, do not support these side street shows, or the ones that make these animals preform for the public, box, taking upclose photos, etc...those that take these babies and our cousins the orgutaun baby from the forrest while killing the mother to do so, to place them into one of these places....thats where your attention should be, and maybe put your time into a program like the rewild program instead of attacking any of us
I agree, it's very oppressive , from what I know about gorillas I would think a larger habitat would be needed, perhaps at least two separate areas where they could use one area for a few months and rotate to a second area, I would think a change of scenery and larger area in general would alleviate boredom and give them more opportunities for being mentally stimulated

Your right there ,I don’t know why they don’t eat something more than just grass , apparently it’s the new owner cutting back to make money, but the farmers usually drop some of their left overs for them, in the wild they can forage for different grasses ,it’s a bit harder for them being locked up and no choice .
