Ik was gister liggend op mijn matje bij een live versie van deze, op twee piano's! Fabuleus....

Geweldig stuk. Bijzonder ook deze video opname.

There a 3 CD´s my favorite out of hundreds piano CD´s, to listen and for inspiration to compose, play and performance. Canto Ostinato is one of it.

Supersnel gespeeld, in vergelijking met de CD's die ik hier heb (met Jeroen en Sandra van Veen)

Binnenkort weer op de Dom te beluisteren! Normaliter krijg ik hoofdpijn van Arie Abbenes, maar hier mag hij mij graag mee wakker maken.

Mooi dat Simeon ten Holt ruimte voor de spelers laat om zelf in te vullen.

I must say I like Mr. Holt's music. Even though this is the first time I hear it and I hope I won't be wrong :)

it's more beautiful when it's played more slowly! Or do I just have to get used to this version? Anyway, briliant piece of music, it makes me feel all alone and together with all the people in the world at the same time... very weird

Keith Jarret, The Köln Concert and David Lanz, Skyline Firedance (solo disc). But there is more: Kostia, Preisner, Philip Aaberg, Asha, Coen Bais, Yann Tiersen. It al depends on taste of course. And tell me, how do you like my best work, Concert for Civilization and most of all the Dream Suite (Come in un sogno, all parts) !?

I like this slightly faster tempo much better. Let's give some credit to the performers, I can't find their names anywhere!: Cees Van Zeeland Gerard Bouwhuis Arielle Vernede Gene Carl

Prachtig die onvermoeibare blikken van Cees van Zeeland op het laatst in volle concentratie kijkend wanneer de laatste noot moet worden ingezet na zo'n marathonsessie.

Ive lost the info booklet, and i cant remember who played it. Simeon ten holt is the composer;). And Yes, its a wonderfull piece!

@acerflots klopt. heb ze gisteren live gezien in Deventer. was toch wel een stukje langzamer.. maar zeker niet minder mooi!

Jammer dat het zo snel gespeeld wordt. De magie van het nummer komt meer tot zijn recht als het in rustiger tempo gespeeld wordt.

Mooie "volle" versie, maar moest er soms een trein gehaald worden? Er wordt soms zelfs een nootje noodgedwongen overgeslagen om het tempo bij te benen, en dat voelt dan als een "gat" in de melodielijnen. Neem uw medicijn en doe het wat rustiger.

wonderful. i want to do paintings that have this effect on me but it is quite obvious to me that michael nyman got his idea for the piano from this piano music by simeon ten holt, and i am surprised that nyman wasn't sued for theft of intellectual property, because nyman must have made a fortune from the music for the piano.
