But I'm using the metal canal extension, with a similar insertion depth. I wouldn't think it would make that much difference in that case right? Also kind of thinking that using the canal extension and measuring at the same depth for everything maybe isn't the best representation, since different IEMs do sit at different depths in ear, like you said. Maybe that would be a benifit of using the pinna is getting a more realistic insertion depth for a particular iem

@@sidesaladaudio It's worth trying with the pinna, but yeah I agree that you're going to get different results on individual people anyway, so there's no real 'correct' result here, and similarly no 'wrong' result either. Personally I find the canal extension tube to be very useful even just to test different insertion depths.

For me, yeah. They are smaller and sit closer in the ear. The tips also seem to fit me better

The EA500LM is cheaper than the EM6L. It's $90, and the EM6L is $110. I just got the EA500LM, so it will take a little bit to finish evaluating. I never got a chance to try the original EA500

EA1000 for more energy and detail

I can't really compare since I haven't used the nova. The Nova seems to have more unanimous praise, so it may be a safer buy. The one thing about the Nova is its very big. I myself prefer smaller profile IEMs, but in terms of sound the Nova appears to be much closer to harman, and more comparable with the Variations which is twice the price

Several reviewers have said the same so likely unless there is something more important when it comes to directional cues. Good channel matching itself isn't worth much based on some I've tried.

The 500LM hasn't arrived for me just yet. so I can't say for certain yet until I get some time with it.

EM6L is a little brighter and can sound more "detailed" at times for lack of a better word, and has a little better sense of instrument separation. but EA500LM is really good. Tuning wise, it's less treble focused than other Simgot IEMs, but it still sounds really clear and effortless. It's probably the safest buy, and I would actually recommend it as a blind buy. It also has 3 different nozzles you can swap out to change the tuning. Accessories are the same, but the 500LM is an all metal shell, and I really like how it feels. All that, as well as it being cheaper, I would have to recommend the EA500LM

@@sidesaladaudio How about instrument separation? Does more driver matter or a solid single DD could do a good job? I'm thinking of getting an end game set between EM6L or Nova but the LM treble seems pretty good to actually quit the hobby and learn to appreciate what I've owned 😂

Or how about a video about your thoughts on topics about a below 200$ IEM that is good enough to be an endgame IEM, Multidriver IEM VS Single DD/planar does it matter? and is it worth paying a lot of money for a TOTL IEM that a lot of reviewers say it is rather than just getting Nova/EM6L or new cheaper alternatives that graph really well.
