You can also have a great mod with the Heusinkveld ultimate upgrade kit. The smart controll box and also the new elastomers can be used. Makes them pedals really best price for the performance.

I LOVE how you're testing on Kyalami. I marshalled at Kyalami for a few years. I LOVE the track, the new layout caught me out a little though. 🙂 Thank you for the advice on the mods.

I went with 2 skateboard bushings, a medium (red) 20x10x25mm die spring and the 2 short stock elastomers. Total cost of $18 Australian. It has a nice progressive feel now, the only thing holding me back is my lack of talent and a TMX lol. Love your channel and the budget/bang for your buck nature of your mods. It was your SimJack mini review that sold me on this pedal set, so thank you. Cheers

Damn your pedal mounting plate has a massive amount of flex. If it can be seen when pressing by hand its moving a lot under foot.

Did this with 1 90a skateboard bushing and stock elastomers+spring removed. Feels so much better for consistency especially past 70-80% braking. If you like the feel of the spring I would maybe even try some different springs as the default spring really doesn't feel that great.

What a great mod! What I did was replaced two of my stock elastomers with custom printed black from 3DRap, the full progressive kit, now using those with one stock. With my spring I replaced it with a red, medium stiff compression spring (15mm ID, 30mm OD, 35mm L). Also adjusting my dead stop to give me slightly more than 2" travel at the top of the pedal. I have them mounted with the brake in stock position and lowered the rear of the clutch and throttle. Now, I have my brake with a beautiful feeling progressive load up and stiffens at about 80% and my pedal is even with my throttle making heel/toe just perfect. Of course this is all subjective but I find it to be perfect for what I expect at any price point...it's realistic. Keep up the great work, love your vids, cheers✌😎

I bought venym brake and the springs. Chuck the stiffer spring on the clutch and notice a better feel than the original. Change the elastomer as well but i did put the original spring at the front and hardest elastomer in the middle and softest at the end. Brakes feel good but will tried out firmest spring from venym to see how that goes.

Word of warning, please do not force 8mm bushings onto the 10mm rod. I did this and what happened was the bushings ended up getting pushed up the rod as it was too tight. Couldn’t pull the bushings out and had to melt it off in the end
@Monke636
@Monke636 10 месяцев назад
Had the same issue with the bushing sliding up the rod introducing some slack into the pedal. Easy fix is to put the skateboard bushing at the very top of the stack closer to the pedal face so that it gets stopped by the metal preload screw. When the bushing is at the bottom it can compress the black elastomers and slide up the rod.

hey bro not brake pedal related but clutch so long story short im hook up by simjack they look after me and in return i setup a few socials for them but i got 2 hydro rods and 2 diff spring weights its super heavy but i love it!!!!! comming from a button puck clutch irl just feels as close as im also thinking of a proper hydro on my brakes removing all the elastomers and then getting the new heusinveld box to see if it works

I've had mine for a while, tried quite a lot of combinations and I find the black elastomers are the part I like the least. I think maybe they are wearing out, they just feel a bit... slow? Every time I've taken the spring off I've ended up putting it back on. A much softer, more elastic elastomer (that I stole off a simjack handbrake), some harder skateboard bushing and the spring is what I'm currently using. I'm quite happy with how it is, but I am going to pick up a VNM pedal brake kit to play around with stiffer springs.

Was initially skeptical, but intrigued enough to try. Got 78A barrel bushings for longboard from Long Island. Despite a bit of hassle to figure out how to expand the hole with limited tools access, the result was impressive. The feel of the pedal immediately improved and was noticeably more comfortable and consistent. Great modification, would recommend to others. Thanks!

I haven't tried it, but I've heard if you calibrate the pedals with Freejoy, you can apply curves to the input. That may help you lower the sensitivity, and increase the force required to hit max braking input.

Watched and the info was great, but the mod not for me, with my brake kit I got a nag of yellow hard elastomers, I used some of those and dilled out 3 nuts to 10mm that fitted inside the spring, this gave me initial movement then elasromers, works great for me, wouldn't have thought of it if I hadn't seen this video....thanks for the help..😂

The OD sounds fine. For the ID, if the metal spring is touching the rod, it will scrape and make noise. So fair warning. That's the reason the stock pedal features those plastic grommets. I don't have the measurements for the clutch spring.

For those who use these Simjack Pro’s, any reason more users don’t just buy the newer Heusinkveld progressive elastomers and use their well engineered stack? Cost me $39 shipped from ASR. Maybe find a spare Heusinkveld spring as well if the Simjack one is an issue and if you can find a spare. It seems to me this would be the easiest and most logical way to get these to feel similar to the Sprints. I’ve been using the Sprints for 5+ years now, just swapped out the old elastomers for the progressive ones and they work fantastic IMO. It made me realize just how mushy my old elastomers had gotten. Happy Racing All!

Have you tried these on sim jack pedals ? What does the kit come with and did you replace every elastometre ?
@fathead7
@fathead7 10 месяцев назад
I like the stock spring personally, gives a more realistic feel, I have removed one of the black rubbers though to give a harder feel once the spring has gone solid. Brake hardness/feel/travel is quite a personal thing imo, long/travel/short travel, hard/soft, some people can push 100kg all day but some prefer 50kg.
@kantina4765
@kantina4765 10 месяцев назад
Really? I found the main issue with these is you end up using all the travel and being forced to push against the little orange piece of plastic as a result of the spring, resulting in a really awkward feel where it’s very easy to hold the brake at 80% but super hard to modulate from there. Especially in down force cars.
@fathead7
@fathead7 10 месяцев назад
@@kantina4765 yep really, the spring goes solid and then the elastomers take over, I assume the little orange piece of plastic you are talking about is on the hard stop at the bottom? I never get to that personally, and I'm running around 100kg pedal pressure. I'm only hitting around 50% brake pressure when the spring goes solid and I can modulate fine, I'm also actually in the process of replacing all the elastomers with springs, I'm not a fan of the elastomer feel personally. Again I will say travel and pressure is quite a personal preference thing, so no bodies 'right'
@kantina4765
@kantina4765 10 месяцев назад
@@fathead7 yeah that's strange, I've noticed 2 of my elastometers are compressed constantly regardless of the preload setting. i have a feeling I'm going to have to look into buying some new ones as I'm not convinced mine are working as intended.
