I get the logic why he thinks it's easier for a tag team to focus on the job when they aren't close friends but as has been said before historically the best tag teams are friends.
He's probably in the past had tag teamed with a friend and it strained their friendship. It's like having friends for roomates. If one thing becomes a problem, it strains the relationship.
I dont agree with him. The most successful tag teams are friends and actually have a bond between them. Look at the new day for example , best friends out of WWE and they are the longest reigning tag team in the history. No wonder why The Vaudevillians where jobbers and they didnt even have chemistry between them.
Edge and Christian, best friends Hardy Boys, brothers Devon and Bubba Ray, best friends Uso's, brothers DX, best friends Steiner Brothers, brothers Yeah sure Gotch, bonds dont matter. I could make that list 5 times as long, and it would still be the same.
Raissa Borg I don't agree with him either. He needs to look at the Rock-&-Roll Express,LOD,the Midnight Express,Ax & Smash. All those teams still get along with each other to this day. From what was going through the wire, Aiden English was glad that Gotch was released
I just heard an interview of Bobby Roode and he said that he James Storm never hung out or during the time as Beer Money and haven't spoke since he left TNA/Impact and we all now how great Beer Money was, so maybe Gotch has a point here.
What I heard: "I'm unlikable, and my tag team partner was a cool likable guy. He had more potential and I was a pretentious asshole. So it's easier to say tag team partners shouldn't be friends because that's how I cope."
Remy LeBreau Road Warriors were best friends too, same for the Bulldogs, and Arn and Tully. Even more true when it comes to tag teams made of two brothers or relatives (Harlem Heat, Rougeau brothers, Owen & Bulldog, etc). So he's pretty wrong there.
Well Gotch's career is over. Also Teams like Edge and Christian, the dudley's, the hardyz...And most modern team would agrue hos statement on tag teams.
Robert Mechling But people like Bret Hart would agree. Hitman [on his DVD] mentioned a laundry list of tag teams that didn't get along during his tenure with Anvil. Simon is just saying he and Aiden had different interests (like many pairs do).
When the team is close friends it shows. They have fun together and they play it to the crowd. The chemistry has to be there. Wrestling fans aren't dumb, for the most part, they can seek out those teams and they don't seem to stay long. Hence why this guy doesn't have a job right now lol
Well marrying the daughter of Eddie Guerrero certainly helped increase his stock. Now obviously i'm not implying that's why he married her, but he's essentially part of Wrestling Royalty now. He'll get many opportunities and 2nd chances if things end up not working out sometime down the line.
Charming Thomas Oh Yeah, His Career Is Gonna Sore After He's Done Being Rusev's Fiddler on the Roof. Give Me A Break any Person with 2 eyes and 3 Brain Cells Can See That They Are Using Aiden to Get Rusev "Established" as a aspiring babyface and Sooner or Later Aiden will natural try to get more Spotlight and He'll Be Crushed By Rusev to a Thunderous Reaction!! If You Actually Think Anything Other That Will Happen You Have a Numb Skull!
Aiden is not over at all, it's Rusev Day that's way over. The crowd doesn't care when he's singing or even if Aiden is there. Tuesday on SDL when Aiden fought Shinsuke, the crowd didn't care at all for him, they were chanting for Rusev.
Could you imagine if all this happened, and yet Simon Gotch was still in WWE, and the Vaudevillains instead broke up because of the Superstar Shake-Up by being drafted to RAW? I wonder what they would have done with him?
The only tag team I know where both wrestlers weren’t friends but had chemistry were James Storm and Bobby Roode. Most tag teams usually end up being good friends.
I really Liked The Vaude Villians..Classic Throw back style Wrestling...reminds me when Wrestling gimmicks where interesting and Highly entertaining...just dont know why they werent Pushed like we wanted ...i see simon Gotch In Roh and Underground Circuit.ThAts Tight.........Respect...
Man I miss him but now Aiden English now is a opra singer basicly in 2017 now they needed to let him back in wwe as his own bc I had seen talent in him and they wasted it wow
When he locked a head locked on someone this past Smackdown he let out an AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Very on key. Reminds me of Jillian Hall when she used to sing opera on their Italy tour.. she was one stupid bitch.
Maybe the honesty gets him the heat. Can really hear the anxiety in his over analysing this. He should try to keep it constructive but at the same time it's pretty entertaining. So it's a tough balance for them.
Says teams work better when they aren't friends, his team completely flops and now his "co worker" is part of one of the most over things in WWE right now. Yea, flawless logic there buddy.
One notable aspect of his take on tag teams. Most, if not all, of the best and most successful tag teams involve people who are actually close friends, and/or relatives. Not to shit on the guy, but I think it's clear that he's just trying to spin the lack of a relationship there into a positive where there isn't one
i really wanted this tag team to get over but then Enzo & Big Cass screwed that up....& where are they now? WWE always ruins great ideas by trying too hard...
