Kiki, do you love me? Are you riding? Say you'll never ever leave from beside me 'Cause I want ya, and I need ya And I'm down for you always. Congrats to BERTENS! Congrats to Halep too.
As a Simona fan, I'm disappointed, but losing the tie-breaker was too much. Kiki played very well, and Simona proved her courtesy and sportsmanship like the champ she is.
Sean Jenkins More excuses for another one of her choking losses. She was mentally weak, she has championship point and still lost. Typical Halep. Have to give her credit for a great fortnight though.
Rain Villa Tell me another player who played so well in those 2 weeks ... ( 9/ 10 matches when others didn’t even win one after Wimbledon like wozniacki) Of course she is gonna be tired because she played 2 matches in one day and it is hard to be physicaly and mentally strong after 2 weeks giving her the best and playing like No . 1

Simona uses too much energy thats the problem with being too aggresive for each point so she had nothing left in her bag in the third set.congrats kiki .womens tennis is interesting
Simona's confidence collapsed during tiebreak and her attitude radically changed during the final set. It was so disappointing (even infuriating as I'm a Romanian myself) to see her act that way. She didn't listen to Darren's advice, she didn't even try to stay focused and do her best. It was almost as if she wanted Bertens to win. For a #1 player like Halep, who's been in so many important finals (some of which were even more stressful) to have that kind of attitude was pretty shocking. I'm proud of her either way, and I hope she does even better at the US Open. Congratulations to Kiki as well, she was incredible! Chin up, Halep! Rooting for you at US Open!
Would also like to add that I'm not trying to bash Halep, as I understand the amount of exhaustion she must've been in, given the number of matches she had previously played. Just pointing out how odd and disappointing her attitude seemed to me, as I've always been used to see her fight for every point, regardless of the score.
kfc twigs Simo's attitude is odd to U, b/c U need a bit more insight into her personality. What did she say to coach during break? I tk a win matters to her LESS than what she perceives is as a relationship with her coach. She must have seen coach applauding opponent as treason. She's rather EXTREMELY sensitive & possessive, me tk.
I think if Darren is clapping when Simona has lost a point, it is to spur Simona on in a moment when she is down as opposed to applauding an opponent's play. It is just like many coaches during their on-court appearances will finish the pep-talk with their players by clapping once or twice and saying 'Come on! Let's go." as they retreat to their box after the umpire calls time. Now Simona I think was just frustrated because she blew a great opportunity against a really good opponent who had a great read on what was happening on the other side of the net and capitalized. Berterns game is really understated. She is picking apart top opponents with her slug-fest tennis. She will often start slowly maybe as she is getting a read on her opponents and then when she starts to put her foot on your neck, it is excruciatingly difficult to get her to relent. And that is what happened here I think. Halep threw everything at Kiki in that 2nd Set to seal the game and when it did not work out, Halep quit. Probably mental fatigue from too much tennis the past two weeks played a part in that. It happens.
Good thing she doesn't have Sebastian Nadal as her father then. In the 2008 Wimbledon final fourth set tiebreak, when Fed denied Nadal with a screaming backhand pass, Sebastian was about to exult, shook his head and then turned away and applauded. Because the match had become bigger than the result. Maybe if they got rid of on court coaching completely, players would stop looking all the time to their coaches for approval. Because whom Caihill is applauding for is irrelevant.
Well derve for bertes. My fearless top eight forecast for race to singapore: HALEP, KVITOVA, WOZNIAKI, KERBER, SVITOLINA, STEPHENS, KASATKINA, BERTENS or MERTENS
You wouldn’t survive 15 minutes in a match against ANY wta player without falling flat out exhaustion. If the grunts helps her or any other player in a game, I don’t see the problem. Get over it
kfc twigs there always has to be someone like you 🤦♂️ have you heard other player's grunts? They use their diaphragm to grunt, Halep is using her throat which can actually damage her vocal cords. I don't know why you got so defensive lmao
Great win for Kiki, funny how she basically keeps playing a clay court game with heavy spin, drop shots and loopy balls. Looks much more fit now and mentally stable. Semi finals US Open IMHO
Why do people still 'root' for Federer? He has won virtually everything multiple times for years. How can you get excited about him doing it again for the millionth time?
Tjeez, WTA and the commentator was so pro Halep. WTA showed too many winning points of Halep imo and never once did the commentator pronounced Bertens first name. Congrats Kiki, beating 4 top ten players and winning the tournament will not soon be forgotten!
Congratulations Bertens for a well deserved victory and congratulations Halep for a great effort. Please stop bashing about Halep's attitude towards the end!!! She is only a human after all ;)
It’s such a shame that it’s a half empty, they have the nice stadium but this is Masters? Why not make Brisbane a masters, they have the roof over 3 stadiums and get record crowds, don’t give it to tournaments who don’t deserve it, reminds me of Roland Garros, it’s a grand slam but 80% of he seats are empty, and Aus Open, and Wimbledon it’s sold out every day.
Kiki withdraws from singles in the new heaven singles due to viral infection but continues to play in the doubles ... seriously??? I was so looking forward ! What a joke .. I guess if you have a viral infection then it applies to all of your matches ... common Kiki ! Wanna see you win !
What are you talking about? Simona was WAY better in the first set. Then when she was down 4-1 in the second, she came back and Kiki couldn't live with her. Brertens then scraped out the tiebreaker and from then on Halep was a shadow of herself. She has played 2 matches in a day twice in the last 10 days- i think she was burnt out.
instead of praising Bertens victory, people are here make fucking excuses that why Simona lost and the so called excuse is that "She is TIRED" ...no one forced her to play back to back tournaments even after winning Montreal and so called world no.1 is still there to play new heaven , it's her own wish wether she decides to play or not , and of course she will ,if she feels healthy and physically fit. Bertens played more tough opponents then Simona ...4 top ten players in a single tournament and she defeated all of them (woz, Svitolina, Petra and now Simona) so it was pretty obvious she deserves it more than anyone else ....I appreciate the way Simona played the whole tournament but she wasn't tested like Bertens was ... so it's my hearty request don't try to spoil her biggest career title by saying that Simona is or was tired.. but I am pretty obvious that the same excited will come if Simona loses US ...she was tired because she played Montreal then Cincinnati and finally new heaven ..blah blah blah.. Azarenka and Serena many others won three or four consecutive tournaments but they never said they are tired ..
Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands has arrived in 2018 by Winning 2 Big Titles in Charleston and Cincinnati. It looks as though the United States is becoming her home away from home.
Good job ladies. Great match but throughout I just felt like Kiki was the better player looking strong and playing some amazing points. She also had a lot of chances yo break so I felt it was a matter of time. Again awesome match. Way more entertaining than the men's final.
Simo was tired after 2 very tough weeks and she is going to play also at New Haven. Bertens played very good today and was a strong opponent. Simo is still the biggest favourite to win the US Open togheter with Sloane.
Everytime the fucking same excuse ...Simona is tired ..she was tired in AO and then now ..this is not her opponents fault it's Simona who is playing back to back tournaments despite of winning...she is playing because she feels she is fit so please not try to overshadow her opponents victory by saying that Simona is tired Bertens defeated woz Svitolina and Petra and now Simona she totally deserves it
Rupinderpal Singh give me a break. I am not trying anything people like you who accuse me that I would overshadow the win of Haleps oponents make me angry.. Kiki deserved to win and I am very happy for her. Nevertheless you Halep haters try to bash her after every lost match. You all called her slamless and she beat you haters in RG and she is going to do it again at the US-Open
+v alona Firstly I am not halep's hater ...she is my favorite player after Angelique...what u know about me whom I hate or not ...I was just trying to give my statement over what u said ..I just said the true fact
Congrats Kiki... GREAT JOB! I love how tennis is evolving, to see more & more players challenging the top 10! I'm a Serena supporter all the way, and I hope she can win more slams.... If Halep maintains her passion & drive & remains consistent she will be the one to beat possibly for the next 10 years (maybe more) once she's healthy! Love her.
Joseph Yosef Roach I don't think so at these grand slams now nobody wins back to back always someone different and you definitely have to stay healthy in a sport that is demanding on your body and I also think Serena has some more grand slams to win.
I never really bothered to watch Kiki's matches in the past but I have mad respect for her game now. She's having a great year and I hope she continues to improve.
Damn! Kiki has gotten real good real fast. She had more stamina at the end, it seemed. Classy player, wonderful form. It's funny how often someone will just barely win the second set in a tie-breaker and then pour it on for the match win in set #3. Great tennis!!
...FarOut Man! Way to go KiKi, so happy for you. Love Simona & really hope she does well at U S Open but Bertens needed this victory and Wow, what a way to win it. Yes!....
I love Halep..But respect Kiki because she deserves a win for her attitude.... Also I'm always supporting any Dutch for their contribution to our society in our town in India...
If you want to rewatch the Halep's tweener (between the legs shot), abs beautiful shot.. here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A8dzVOYrzPY.html
WTA, first of all thanks for this long highlights! But I still have a general technical critic in terms of your last video uploads. I'm not sure in which format you're recording your videos. If this is 25/30 frames per seconds, you should upload this format and NOT 24 frames per seconds (according to the RU-vid statistics). Otherwise there is a lot of annoying stuttering visible when i don't use the fake picture optimization of my tv. For another example, please look at the last hot shot from this women's final. There you can see the same problem. Please fix this for you further videos. Thank you very much!
Kiki, SO happy for you. You got what you derserve. You are not only a great player, you are a wonderful, sweet, humble person as well. Go on this way and you 'll get the ranking where you belong. We love you .
standing ovation to Bertens bc to have that mindset like wow, her attitude was just outstanding and she still kept on playing the game even when she was on set point, look where that took her

So so happy for her! Well deserved. Congrats Kiki, I see you at the US open. you made the dutch proud today. Keep doing what your doing and most important, enjoy!
