hi @lesscoelectronics. love watching all your videos. I found when using a similar illuminated switch, there is no need for the red wire! It is simply to illuminate the LED. I am using my toggle switch for door locks and at first I thought I was going to have to now look for unilluminated toggle switches. But I got to thinking about the power source for the switch so I unhooked the red wire and voila, the light stayed off but I could still control the door lock actuator! Whoop!
Thanks for making this! I am currently trying to hotwire a power window with a fivewire switch with out relays but the switch is japanese and is difficult to understand for me. What would happen if only one ground was attached?
I have a four-lock system exactly like this and I've installed it successfully. Now I have one amber-colored wire that's supposed to power the trunk release. How do I wire that? I bought another actuator, now how do I wire it? Thanks
My truck has an aftermarket viper alarm. It does not have power lock switches. I want to add the switches. Would the best option be to tie into the alarm system?
Ran across this and was wondering if you may be able to help me, you seem to a lot more then I can find with my search. So added power locks to my 72' but rather not add interior switches. But like to have my 4806v viper be used to lock and unlock it(mainly the range and added stuff later on) so like to know if you could let me know how to do the wiring, seems the testing I'm doing only get it to lock on the two wire actuators and not unlock. So do I need the 5 wire or do I need to add a relay? To make it work. If your able to help be much appreciated.
Lessco- Can you walk me through how to add several actuators and have them all retract with a timer? I would like to be able to manually extend them, though. Thanks
My remote is working backwards, when I hit like it unlocks and vice versa. I flip-flopped in the green and blue wires on the passenger door and it now works normally when pushing each button, the Driver side door is still wrong, if I try to reverse the blue and green wires on that side it sends it into a lock/unlock frenzy that never ends. Which wires out of the black, blue, green, brown and white wires do I switch? If you could help that would be awesome. Thank you
I have a driver side door with a dead actuator. The door won't open and the cable that controls the latch won't release. If I stripped the cable that controls the door latch and hook it up to your actuator will that work? I probably need to get to the wires from the car itself also and maybe that cable will release. Does that make sense?
I have a Directed 4103. Can I use this switch to tap into the door lock wiring on the brain (blue and green wires on the brain) so that I can have an internal switch to lock/unlock?
Thanks great info, can you answer the following: I have a remote door locks with electronic relay now with no inside lock control button. I would like to add 5 wire button as you described, do I tap separate 12v & ground and splice into one of lock and one unlock wires. thanks
I installed this system in my car and I have a question? My car has a trunk release button on dash, the orange wire in diagram says trunk. How do I go about connection this to make it actuate. Do I just tap into dash trunk release button?
Hi, I thanks for the video. Your always helpful. I I have a question. My driver's master door lock switch on my car doesn't seem to work. My passenger master works. The 2 slaves in the back seat doors work. The problem master has its light on but doesn't want to actuate. Before I go ahead and go through the process of opening my door card and buying a new switch, are there a few steps I should do first before I blow $200 for a new switch/actuator (or spend a day opening the inside of my car door-I've got a VW Passat) before I realize that I should have done something simple to solve the problem? Thanks! Ray
IMO, To get to the trouble source you will need to access the bottom of that switch to get a tester on it to see if the switch is throwing voltage or if its just corrosion/broken or a lose connection. So off with the door panel. And BTW those switches are very affordable in non oem types on eBay these days... I've used one with great success.
If anyone can help me out, I bought a viper alarm and also aftermarket actuators due to my car not having any and also have a 451m relay. Now I’m trying to add a switch to open and close the doors while I’m driving and I connected the wires same as the video but my wires burn up. Any ideas on how to fix my problem?
thanks so much for this, works perfecthow do I wire up a second switch? I got both actuators working from the switch on drivers side. do I need relays to have 2 or more switches?
, I did that, but it doesn't work. Is it because the blue and the green or resting on negative or ground? so when you send a positive signal through blue or green and one door it actually grounds out on the ground resting on the other switch on the other door?
Thanks for making this video it's very uselful. I was wondering if this principle would work for me wiring up an electric window? I am attempting to make my own circuit up, so far I have the electric windows in place and the 5 pin switch panel.. Would these switches change the polarity both ways or would I have to involve some relays to do this?
I have 3 5 wire door lock actuators and 3 door like switches. I cant find how to wire it. None of the relay wiring diagrams work. Can you tell me how to hook them up?
If the power wire is hooked up to ignition power and the grounds/brown are hooked to a constant would that keep the light off until ingition power is turned on?
hey Lessco Electronics or anyone who can help me i need some advice i have a 08 civic dx with no power locks and i want to put power locks in my car i have a remote keyless entry that has actulators and i aslo have the other oem lock actulators witch would be the best way to do it
Hey Dude, Can i install this on my Motorcycle to Unlock my Seat lock Without a Relay? Some Guy said that using the actuator without a Relay Can Burn it. Hoping for a Reply..
I have a wireless remote with 2 buttons and a reciever with 4 wires. Reciever has constant plus, constant minus and two wires that get +12volt when I push the buttons. Any way I can use this with a two wite actuator for central locking?
+Bjørni Eliassen sure, follow the relay schematic tutorial I have up here or email me for a free pdf on wiring relays that way and Ill send it to you (send it to sales@lesscoelectronics.com)
I was trying to connect a same switch to my power lock system with 5 actuators, but its 10A fuse is blown, I think that I may connect these wires incorrectly. I connected the positive to a 20A power from the fuse box, but the power lock system has an only 10A fuse, should I connect the switch to the batter directly? How to use one switch to control 5 actuators ? Thank you.
I use only 3 wires for door lock unlock switch.. 2 wires for lock & unlock while another wire for ground coz the door needs to be close to operate the switch.. I didn't want any light.. It's straight forward.. I connect or loop through the central lock module coz it was easy to locate..
Hello, First time checking your channel, I'm trying to add a keyless on my semi's driver door only but my switch has 6 wires, any advice on how to wire it without a relay?
So I have a 2011 versa hatchback I believe it has the actuators already cause it locks all doors when I turn the key in the lock position twice. Will I just need to install the brain (CPU) to get the remote to lock all doors
that car uses 5 wire style motors, so it'll require relays to integrate with it:OEM KEYLESS INTEGRATION Lock Motor LT BLUE (5 wire) BCM BLACK 15 PIN CONN, PIN 10 * Driver Unlock Motor GREEN (5 wire) BCM BLACK 15 PIN CONN, PIN 4 * All Unlock Motor GREEN (5 wire) BCM BLACK 15 PIN CONN, PIN 11 * OEM Keyless Module Location - OEM Lock Relay Location -
The question is: how it will control both doors? The system I saw today had the same switch one on each door, but the driver door only Locked/Unlocked the driver door and passenger switch just the passenger door.
Can you bypass it to the driver side window.? There are also 5 wires.. How many wires to connect and which one? I've tried using only 3 wires.. Left/right for lock/unlock.. While the middle is the ground.. Is it correct?
Hi I have a 2004 Lincoln Aviator and there is a knocking sound coming from the back . I had a guy disconnect the drivers side door lock switch and it went away. I ordered a used door lock switch and just pushed it in and it snapped and the sound came back. The door lock switch still doesn't work and I am not sure if wires needed to be wired into the piece or not. Any help is appreciated. Stay safe and healthy. Steve
@@Lesscoelectronics I was looking at connecting the actuator wires from the manual switch directly to the actuator wires which are also connected to a remote keyless entry controller
you dont have the signal wires crossed to both actuators then. you need two signal wires that run between the switches and actuators as bridges. one is you unlock bridge one is your lock.
Hey my friend.. i was looking for this video whole day thaank youu bro. I have a question i hope you will see this comment. Is this possible with 3 pin button ( 3 wire button) ?
hi there I fried factory master door lock actuator in my mazda capella ah was wondering is it possibly to wire in a 5 wire after market door actuator to fill its place and power all the factory door locks again also can you post a video of how to work out what your vehicle door locks run on ie positive switching neg or reverse polarity ? to replace the one I have fried thanks any help would be appreciated thanks
hi dear, As you explain, I want to fit key less entry I have purchased from eBay. but there is not provided actuator with circuit. I have celerio car, there is 5 way switch in my celerio car for door open n close. so can I fit the kit there without actuator with your idea. kindly tell me connection diagram
simply want to ask you, there is 5 way switch in my car already n my is central locking already. can I install keyless entry remote without actuator with the help of these switch wiring. if possible show me diagram.
I was hoping I could use one on each door just like the factory type but I just bought the 3 pin switch from you so I think I'll use it with relays since I'm doin remote start/key less on ranger
I dont get it my friend. But my question is, is this possible if i have alarm system with remote?. I want extra switch like that so i dont need to push pull the driver side actuator to unlock and lock
+Lessco Electronics sorry to bother u again. Is it possible to even hookup an alarm system to the switch. so every time when I hit the button it will lock n unloch all doors via the switch? thanks for helping out
