clean and simple set up works great! stock internal GSR. original high milage motor precision turbo 6262 ramhorn manifold hondata s300 fuel pump, injectors, eboost boost controller 93 octane!
Big shout out to Joe ! A excellent tuner and overall cool guy 👍 UPDATE : it's currently at 17 psi now and has made over a dozen pulls with 180k miles on the dash. Time to freshen it up 💪
Thanks for allowing me to ask you a question! How reliable is a say 4-500hp 8-10lbs for daily? What is the lifespan expectancy on average that you seen of these set ups?
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest how's the reliability on boosting a stock type r motor. Mine is slightly modified got the motor hmotors with the usual 35-60k miles on it's in good shape, I have skunk 2 pro 1 cams bc cam gears, arp head studs and will do springs retainers valves cometic gasket. But am planning on doing stock bottom end with gt28 turbo setup from goautoworks. Just worried about reliability on the stock bottom end internals. Shooting for 275-300 hp max. I have access to a good tuner but still worried about not doing sleeve work rods pistons etc. Many have said I'll be more than good but want more opinions from people who do this not armchair mechanics if you know what I mean lol. Also I have upgraded fuel pump, reccomendations on injectors? sweet vid thanks for the input in advance
@@jprince3 lol.... I have the almost exact same built and set up as you... crazy.. but I have itr cams.. fully built head...stock b18c bottom... wanna know what it's gonna do.. .
How much power can the stock pistons handle? I rebuilt my motor but was originally planning on keeping it NA but now I want boost. Its a B18C5 Type R btw.
I’ve done a million of them in the 4-500 range. It’s really about the combo. Like if a car makes 500 at 8psi vs. If it makes 500 at 40psi there is a huge difference
Hey man- any chance you could give me a few tips on building a nice stock internal boosted b18cr. Have had my car for about 4 years now and am unsure on what route take. Any tips or advice from what you've seen work well?
I don’t remember on this one. I’ve never found the factory head bolts to be a weak link. I’ve done this kind of power on stock gsr motors probably 200 times. The key is having a set up efficient enough to make the power work out having to run 1000psi
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest Lol😆. I just had to revisit this video because of how well it did for such a KISS setup on pump 93. How about degree/boost when building the boost map, ballpark?
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest it sounds like a bit off sputter or something and the cross over engagement is a little slow it should snap into VTEC lil faster than that.
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest lol I didn't wonna say it but i can tell he not that great. He probably got the vtec engagement set too low, needs more oil pressure build up and would hit much harder. And harder to notice the crossover because it would happen so fast.
I can’t remember if it did at this point or it. It came back later with pistons rods and cams and it had studs then. For what it’s worth I’ve made this sort of power on stock head bolts numerous times
