The beautiful thing about a quality, well made pair of leather dress shoes is that they will look better and better over time...if you take care of them.
I'm going to share the bare minimum of what you can do to keep your leather dress shoes looking like new, while also keeping the leather moistened and clean so that they will last a long time and age beautifully.
It's actually quite simple, just a few steps and can be done in 3 minutes. I'll walk you through the process here with a few extra tips, like how to to test the cream color and where on the shoe to do so incase it isn't the right color as well as an important finishing step to darken the edge of the sole to really make them look new.
I hope you find this useful and can apply it to your leather dress shoes.
PS - I didn't mention how often I do this. If you wear your shoes a couple times a week, it's best to do this once every month or two. If you wear your shoes less, say once a week, you could probably get by doing this once every 3 months or so. However, you have to be the judge. If you find the color is fading, or doesn't look deep, it's time to do this. If they look dry and are wrinkling, it's best to do this. If they are dirty and dusty, maybe just a simple brushing is sufficient, but if they are dirty and dry, brush them and add some cream.
