Heya, most poffertjes we've come across do contain yeast. If you want to make them without, you can make Ebelskivers which are made without yeast. :) Or feel free to use your own recipe for poffertjes if this isn't the style you're used to.
It definitely shouldn't taste like raw dough, but it will have a more yeasty flavour than your regular pancake which can take some getting used to. Sorry you didn't enjoy it!
