Three simple rules that make alternating colours in every row easy and fun. Great way to elevate any stitch pattern.

Maryna! This is brilliant! In addition to color work (can’t wait to try it with your alternative to brioche stitch) but will work beautifully with different dye lots or brands like Malabrigo when you need to alternate balls. You never cease to amaze! Thank you for another great one❤

Thank you, Esme 🙏 It is a great idea to use this method to mix different dye lots. I haven't thought of that. Thank you, my friend!

I’m going to try this with hand dyed yarn to keep it from pooling. Thanks!

Would like to use this method for a baby blanket, slipping first stitch. Will it work? TU!

I don't see why it wouldn’t work, as long as you are able to slide the stitches to get to the other side. If you are unsure, you can always make a small swatch before starting the blanket.

I agree with @angko-pe - there is no problem using slip-stitch selvedges with this method, but it is safer to make swatch first to test this approach. Happy knitting!

Brilliant! Any reason this wouldn’t work for a swatch to get gauge for knitting in the round if you used 2 strands of the same yarn? 3:06

This method is not a good way to make a "mock" swatch in the round because we do turn the work after every other row. You will get a more reliable gauge when you slide the stitches after every row and bring the yarn to the other edge of the swatch leaving a loose strand hanging at the back of the fabric. Good luck!

Very clever, but what a mess I could make with a real pattern 😂

I agree, it is safer to apply this method to the stitch patterns you know well. A more challenging stitch pattern could be quite confusing. Happy knitting!
