Oh my goodness this is perfect!!! I’ve attempted brioche yrs ago and wasn’t happy with how tedious it was if I made a mistake. This is great!!

I’m not a brioche failure; I am too intimidated to even try it. Thank you so much for this! If I want to make it in 2 colors, when do I change yarns?

You can change colours whenever you want depending on the width of the stripes you plan to make. To turn this stitch into a two-colour pattern similar to the two-colour brioche, alternate colours in every row or round. Have fun!

Can you demonstrate this using two colors?
@10rowsaday

Thank you for the suggestion. It is not difficult to turn this stitch into a two-colour pattern. All you need to do is alternate colours in every row or round (work row 1 in colour A and row 2 in colour B). When we work in the round, we simply pick a different strand at the beginning of each round. When we work back and forth, things get a little bit more complicated. I'll make a step-by-step tutorial that shows what exactly we should do to make a one-row colour pattern. Thank you once again for the suggestion :-)

Yes! An easier brioche! Like Cthecool, I tried brioche a few years ago but boy I kept messing up. Would it work for color brioche or are we stuck with the complicated one for that? Regardless, thank you for another great one ❤

I love brioche --the brioche as taught by the Nervous Knitter. She calls the stitches exactly what they are instead of the 'brp'and 'brk' language others use.Makes much better sense!!

Hi Esme. I am happy you like this stitch pattern. It also works great for knitting with two colours. To turn this stitch into a two-colour pattern similar to the two-colour brioche, alternate colours in every row or round. Have fun, my friend!

Although I have successfully learned brioche, I am very curious how this translates to a two color project.

I was gifted a thick and thin bulky weight yarn for Christmas. Could I use this this yarn with this stitch or would it change the integrity of the pattern, please? Thank you for sharing this technique!

This is an interesting question, Karen. Usually, textured yarns work best with plain stitch patterns like stockinette stitch, So, I would say, your thick and thin yarn will somewhat conceal the texture of this stitch pattern, but it is better to make a swatch to make sure you like the way the yarn interacts with this stitch.
