Sims 4 Ultimate Decades Challenge | HARD MODE | 1300 -1301 | Ep 1 

I am so blown away by how much you all are enjoying this series. I just wanted to leave a pinned comment here letting you all know that I had no plan and really didn't expect such a positive reception. I am aiming to get better with every video and make my videos more accessible to all moving forward. Thank you all for spending time with me and my sims!

Sims woohooing and skinny dipping isn’t allowed on TikTok (even though nothing is even shown) but teenagers are allowed to dance to songs like WAP half dressed…….it makes so much sense

Welcome to medieval times! I’m entering year 1367 and the plague…. Oh the plague was brutal! Good luck!

I am on 1316 in my main Morbid Decades challenge. But a few "years" before getting there, I had a series of bad rolls that literally wiped out everyone but the father and one daughter in a side family. I had a woman move in to help with the household and the child, but Blessing (the child) took an instant dislike to her (as a toddler - - and angelic toddler who loved everyone,. I was quite surprised when Sims did this.) So, I decided Nathaniel would ask his brother, my main Sim, Castiel, to take in Blessing since Nathaniel decided to marry Sarah (the woman who'd come to help) and start a new family. Castiel told him he'd adopt Blessing and, while they could visit, any decisions about her future, marriage, etc. would be made by Castiel, not Nathaniel. It was a fun twist on a devastating tragedy of bad rolls. The take away? You need your side families. A few bad rolls can wipe out everyone. And those were just aging rolls in my case. Then take on war or disease and you have a new kettle of fish to brew! Advise: make those side families as soon as possible, or download some.

What I do is "age up" my teens to young adult when they hit 16, but still count them as teens on the spreadsheet. This way I can avoid all the teen angst and marriage limitations that go with Sims teens. When they would normally become young adults, I do the roll for them and give them adult makeovers, but do not age up the character in game as they have already been aged up.

It’s a miracle I survived. I’m Romanian so between the Black Plague and the plague in Romania and the orphanage it’s amazing my bloodline even exists. I’ve done this sorta, I’d make my sims live in 1800s times but never knew it was actually a thing. I wanna start with ancient Egypt though.

The bathtub didn't work because sims will not use showers or tubs in front of infants/toddlers :) Loved the episode

Build an outhouse. That will solve the bathroom issues. Pre modern times people used outbuildings to go to the bathroom due to lack of plumbing. (plop your tub in there & should solve the bathing issues too)

idk how much farther youve gotten since posting this, but i highly recommend keeping up with side households (even just one) if you can, even if its a little annoying. My first heir had 7 kids but after all the death rolls, only 1 kid remains. His sister couldve provided more heirs in case of emergency but now I'm down to just one kid 😬best of luck! this challenge is a blast!

When hunting with this mod, the meat comes in the form of the actual animal carcass. You can then turn it into certain types of meat by cutting it up. Or you can sell the meat/ carcass.

Boiled eggs, And bread platters (with fruit, cheese, etc.) will last. They have no expiration. Neither do the carcasses.

Yep, yep that's why I like this challenge. Forcing me to do things I NEVER do in regular gameplay! Which is great because I always get bored so fast. Probably because I lack the imagination to create drama ingame 😢

This looks cool, subscribing for more. Infants can be cleaned up at a sink. You might need to do it more than once if they have a blowout. I know you needed the money, but spoiled fish can be used as fertilizer. My grandpa would catch fish and use the heads, tails, and guts in his garden, it stunk, but he grew great produce. 😂 Edited to add: You can do tummy time without that playmat. It's really only good for the infant to learn to grasp a toy. But if you put a rattle near the mat the infant will grab that.

I have been considering for the Great Plague making the coin flip for EVERYONE in the game, including wandering NPCs. I think it might be interesting.

Pro tip: Pretty sure if you put your fridge in a cellar (basement) the ice doesnt melt as fast, and sometimes not at all. FYI

If one of my people get mauled by a bear, I add scars. One scar per mauling. I also roll for death after the first mauling (coin flip).

I’m watching so many Ultimate Decades Challenge playlists cause I just finally got all my CC and build and sims created to start it myself. I’m so unorganized though so it’s entirely possible that I give up before I start. Haha 😅 but watching videos of other people doing it makes me so excited!

They have a broom mod that you can get an old fashioned broom to clean up the floors.

Those talent announcements. You must have chosen a sim that already had those abilities and that's why the notifications came up. Or maybe it was a bug, but I doubt the first one, because it happens to me if I use a sim I've made that I've already played with in another challenge/neighborhood/etc and I've saved it in my gallery because I've decided I want to use that sim again sometime. :D

oh I saw a few of your tiktoks I'm glad you started youtube, AND my second absolute favorite challenge (I also suggest The Amazon Challenge, my first absolute favorite) in my game, I actually started with a homeless peasant woman trying to get enough money to build a house through...being a bard...with a certain mod...and she accidentally got pregarnet, and the guy was the WORST, so of course they got begrudgingly married so that the child would be legitimate, and her husband cant stand her OR kids XD

I currently have a Sim who is living the old fashioned way of life, living off the grid without electricity or running water. For lighting, she just uses the oil lamps. For baths, she uses the wooden off the grid bathtub. For the toilet, she uses the pee bush. No sinks. She just tosses all the plates and bowls in the trash. She does have a car though because she needs to use it to get to places quickly, as I imagine the places are quite far apart from each other. I am also voting for desirable NAPs. It’s not really a medieval save file. I like to think of it as a CC-free way to share creations.

I got distracted and dropped off on watching this series somewhere along the way.. now I’m starting from the top, gotta get a lore refresh lol

I really appreciate you saying that challenges are meant to be fun. I feel like sometimes people fixate on it being as close to the rules as possible while sacrificing enjoyment. First and foremost its a game, not a law, and if it isnt fun as well I dont see the point in wasting my limited free time on it. Great video! also: seeing zombiecleos name attatched to sims stuff when I primarily know her from hermitcraft gives me whiplash lol

Just starting your series and I love it. I'm too impatient to actually play this way lol. TIP for money have them find collectibles to sell! I find that easier and faster than gardening or fishing ✌🏻👍🏻

Could you narrate more please. I didn't know why the male Sim kept making those horrible screeching sounds, or on the second pregnancy all of a sudden you just stopped and went to dead air for several seconds, then said she is pregnant and the baby is fine. I'm on a tablet and can't read the super small in-game pop-ups, so you are are relying on us to read everything ourselves, I think? That's not possible for everyone, so please orally tell the storyline. Thanks! 😊 I've never heard of this challenge, it looks like it's going to be super neat! 👍🏻

I've refreshed my own challenge, I'm now on generation 6, year 1390. So much deaths! I also found that having the rest of the world on short lifespan works well, they age on their own accord without me holding their hand. And with MCCC and neighbour stories enabled they also marry and have kids on their own. Making the challenge a little easier.

According to google, they did actually have bottles. You could just pretend it’s one made from a cow’s horn. Lol. That was the most common type. And sometimes they used wood and ceramic. Many infant-feeding devices were made from pewter and silver as well.

I just started this challenge using Ye Olde Cookbook too, but I haven’t found any seeds yet to make flour? Where are the seeds :-( I’ve foraged so many times!

I've got my Sims created and about to create the world, but it won't be on my channel until July 23rd. I'm starting it in celebration of my one year anniversary on here. I found your channel while watching other let's plays of the series to see how everyone else was doing it and I'm loving your play through so far.

My first-born of generation 1 didn't pass the death role when aging up the toddler... Doesn't feel like a good start. Makes sense from a story-telling perspective though, as I had a fire in the house the same day he was aging up. 😢

Im new to your videos but I don’t understand why you can’t have a fridge? Obviously they didn’t back then but they had so many ways of preserving food which isn’t an option in the sims. Like salting, cold cellars, canning, confit, curing, jellying, and so on… I mean there is even stuff like Bog Butter and Hákarl (aka catching a shark and placing it in a shallow hole dug in gravelly sand, then cover with sand and gravel with stones placed on top of the sand in order to press the fluids out of the body and ferment it)

Why do they have a bathtub a) in the house, b) at all? I’m from a country that historically had public bath houses (along with a water barrel and a jug method) and I’d like to know whether it’s for gameplay or for historical accuracy. Btw is there no sponge bathing in sims 4?
