I suggest using the neighborhood mod to make sims stay in their home neighborhood, to both simulate travel distance and so you dont have to worry as much about randomly seeing modern Bella Goth in 1300s Henford-on-Bagley lol
The sims resource has some amazing midieval mods and cc and its all free. One turns some eco lifestyle items into like a water tower and a well, and even have sleepgowns for even babies. Also the play mat is absolutely optional. Cribs arent necessary they can sleep on the floor, or you can use the invisible crib mod, and there are so many old time style cribs, bassinets, wooden toys, etc. There is alao a ton of medieval cc for furniture and build items and clothes hairstyles etc. And a lot of creators are updating for infant stage.
I got a lot of stuff for this challenge from TSR but I don't think I've seen some of the specific things you mentioned on there. I will have to do a search and see if I can find them.
I'm really enjoying this series! I'm so excited to see a simmer actually tackle this massive challenge and do it in a historically accurate way! It's my favorite to watch and you actually have 20+ episodes I can binge! I'm gonna be here a while! 😂 (Also the temptation to click on that family tree in the description is so real! I need to restrain myself, I'll regret it otherwise. LOL)
Haha episode 2 sure does seem like a long time ago now... We've come a long way, that's all I'll say so as not to spoil it! I am glad you found us and are enjoying it!
I’ve been surfing RU-vid trying to find a fun legacy challenge and nothing has scratched the itch like this one has! I’m excited to watch the whole thing.❤️
Aw thank you so much! I do think it gets better the further along we get. I didn’t know people were actually going to watch it so it took me some time to get my feet under me lol
If you knit and then stop mid way in order to resume the knitting of the item you must first rock in the rocking chair and as she is rocking you click resume kitting then the item.
Thanks for the tip. Another one of those silly sims things. Rocking chairs are technically against the rules of this challenge but hey - sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
MCCC does have a feature for each life stage getting its own percentage for pregnancy... pregnancy, pregnant sim, pregnant sim percentage, set per age. I think is where it is.
Hi! Never heard of this challenge but it definitely looks interesting already. I know I'm 2 weeks late on the vid but just wanted to say that babies that are whisked away from neglect are still in the game I believe. Theyre considered homeless as they age up out of the household.
I didn't really think of that! That would so weird if they come back around. The creator of the challenge just suggested that is the only way to ... "unalive" them. I am not sure what the ramifications are of doing so though!
@Chic Sims LOL would definitely make things interesting! I believe your able to "unalive" them through MC command center so they don't have the potential of coming back to visit lol
It probably is Irish. I am using a generator that generates several origins and haven't been picking any origin exclusively. I am a horse girl so I am going to use that as an excuse for calling her mare. LOL Really though, I am horrible at pronouncing names (or anything really) even if I look them up or know what they should sound like in my head - but I need to at least try instead of winging it. :D
I know you are many videos ahead, but have you disabled the free will in the options? It will stop them from not doing what you have queued them up to do.
I have not. If it was a smaller household, I probably could, but I don't know that I can ensure the sims are taking care of themselves with as many as there are.
I tried to get my werewolf sim to eat raw eggs because he can eat raw foods but all I get was the option to dye or paint Easter eggs; I do not get why he doesn't even have the option to "devour" the raw egg? He can devour furniture but not eggs? Does anyone have an answer for me?
Thank you for sharing your experience. I really don't want this house to get much bigger for realism's sake, but there so many limitations with the Sims. The size of the beds alone makes it challenging.
How are you planning on marrying off the teens? What mod do you use? For my medieval gameplay I have to marry them off as young adults, which sucks because it’s such a time waster
I tried several things. Unfortunately, the arranged marriages mod interfered in everything and messed it up, so it was a long process of getting to a point of figuring out what worked. I just enable teen marriage in MCCC - but I did have to remove the arranged marriages mod for it to work.
I wonder if it is possible to go beyond triplet pregnancy with your sim without mods and make her an Octo Mom on the same birthday and not just separate sets of multiples?
Yes, due to gameplay limitations, some things have to be overlooked or revised. For example, it would be commonplace toshare beds and stuff too but the game only allows some people to share a bed, etc.
This is a great suggestion! I almost exclusively add families created by the audience and uploaded to #ChicSimsDecades hashtag on the Gallery. A few episodes in there were additional families added into the game from more diverse backgrounds. Just recently, I added an Armenian family because someone added them to the gallery specifically. They don't always get a detailed background or story if they don't already have one when uploaded; however, please upload some you'd like to see in the story using the hashtag above! I love adding more diversity to the game.
That's so sad about her losing one of her babies! I personally would never have wanted to live back in those days...No hospitals, modern medicine....No way! Of course women were made of stronger stuff back then too though. We may have it a bit too easy nowadays LOL
I just watch 2 episodes and don't know if you had fix it later but you can silence the phone so it stops pop up. You don't need a baby mat, just do tummy time directly on the floor. And like people said, there are cc clothes for infants and toddlers that fit medieval era. Sorry I won't follow your challenge because the illusion is broken too often.
Hi! When I started the challenge I was excited to play and added more mods and cc as I went along. But for the infants, they were still really new at the time I started so it took some time to sort them out with cc as people created it and I found it. I did elect to keep using the playmat for awhile but I did download one that looked more natural. The phone thing doesn’t bother me too much and I found it quite funny when they would pull their phone out but I did eventually download a default replacement for it. Acquiring the cc and mods necessary for this is a ton of work. I did what I felt like I had to in order to start and then worked on it more as we went along. I understand that it may not work for some folks and that’s ok.
If you went plumbot building and had gone for Robot building/"star wars" future like things with your sim family you would have an easier time for your couple to focus on their children more and have more time for your sim parents to "Fondue" for more pregnancy at any time you wanted and all that you could do 50/50 without mods; If you were to lean away from where the challenge was supposed to go.
Sorry! I am aiming to get through about two years in every episode because the challenge spans 100's of years - so my playthrough of this challenge might not be for you. I do record while I play and have way too much footage as it is, so it just is what it is. I will be conscious of it now, but I probably need to keep the same pace.
Haha I watched it at higher speed so I could get through some sections a bit faster. Everyone likes to enjoy their content differently. I like the editing style!
