SINGAPORE HAWKER FOOD 40+ YEARS HAI NAN FRIED HOKKIEN MEE + CHICKEN RICE
the oldest hokkien mee you can find at Golden Mile Food centre.. Hai Nan fried prawn mee has been around for over 40years.. making it one of the old Masters at Singapore Hokkien Mee. This Uncle fries up small batches of Hokkien mee upon order.. it's not like the rest these days where they will fry up maybe 30 plates at one go using a ginormous wok.
next to it is Hai Nan chicken rice.. the queue for this stall is also horrendously long as you can see from this video.. both stalls here are like the blockbusters at this hawker centre..do come just before lunch at 1130am if you'd like a shorter queue for your mouth watering food!

Interesting comments.. come to think of it .. I don't ask the roti prata man to wear gloves. Nor the french chef making my croissants... Nor the pizza man.. nor my mother or grand mother not to touch my Chee cheong fun with their hands. I trust their hands are clean if not I'd have issues for 49 years. Plus.. I'd always make more mess cooking Maggie Mee at home.. let alone a few hundred plates. So many of us probably trust a messy kitchen with tasty food served to the masses over 49+years than a clean kitchen full of chlorox. Detergent. Baygon. And maybe Mr. Muscle 😂 Chill guys.. relax and treasure what these pioneers have fed us for ages.. embrace our culture and love more 😊

High heat wok hei kills all his dirty hands germs. Just don't ask him to make you sushi rolls. One thing I don't get is after 49 years he can't come up with some kind of special half hood to hook up to his wok so he don't throw noodles all over the wall.

Hahaha.. one Trademark I noticed of old-school hawkers who fries noodles.. they are NEVER neat and tidy. It's the motion in emotion that Stirs up a good plate

Yeah! I love the dryer fried hokkien mee. 😜The fried chicken also looks great! Love the animation at the end too. So nostalgic. After watching Jean and now this.. 5am I think the best bet is rush to 24hr supermarket and get some ah balling to eat. Hahaha

There is a stall only sell steam fish with rice at second floor. Will close if no fish that day. Very tasty, price also reasonable. Can go and try.

This hokkien mee in my opinion is the best one ive ever tasted. Its fried and choked full of flavor unlike the wet soupy kind that most stalls serve.

My grandmother used to run a fried hokkien mee stall at the hawker next to Fu Lu Shou Complex, near the temples and all. I even forgot the name of the hawker center... but basically, I spent a lot of time there because they babysat me while running the stall...

I’ll usually still have that ah balling coz it’s hard to find these days. I belong to the wet HKM camp. But his is special becoz he doesn’t use Chor (thick) bee Hoon 😀
