Due to lockdowns, people around the world took up crocheting during the Covid-19 pandemic. Handsewn masks were all the rage on craft platforms like Etsy. Ghib discovers that in Singapore, some young people have turned this simple hobby into a business and an artform.
Ghib meets Terrix and Angie, who run craft workshop Tiny Rabbit Hole as a couple. He learns that the craft of crochet is shedding its frumpy image as more young people get hooked on it. He also visits an exhibition by Kelly Limerick, a renowned crochet artist in Singapore, marveling at the works of art produced from just a few crochet hooks and balls of yarn.
As he works on creating a pouch for this grandma, Ghib begins to reconnect with own his family history, as his grandparents used to sell knitwear.

Ghib is a good n fun host. Doesn’t matter if he or she is local or not, most importantly is the content of the show n how he is able to draw viewers to watch it.

Thank you so much for hosting this series Ghibさん. I really see myself in this video and hopefully, as they all said, people see the value and effort being put into these unique handmade products. Support local handrafters! 🥳

Im a male I started crochet with my grandma when I was 6.. the repetitive movement is really therapeutic. Back in September 2020 I came back to crochet again because it was the most stressful part of the pandemic 🥰 I specialize on recycled yarns

I enjoyed this very much. Thank You all. A problem with buying supplies etc. for craft work is that the sales staff seem to have no knowledge of their products. For example if you want a pattern that's in American and you want to use another yarn, of the same weight they have no idea what it means or even try to find out, for a paying customer.

Elsie is in Ang Mo Kio. My favourite shop too :D Nice to see that there are still youngsters picking up crochet. I can crochet and knit. In addition to the fact that crochet cannot be mass-produced, it is also more versatile as in an entire sweater, bags, jackets, etc can all be made using only crochet hooks while products using knitting still needs stitching using needles or crochet. Crochet can also be used for making buttons and any decorations you can think of to add to your final product.

While NHK has numerous journalists and narrators from various nationalities working on multiple programs, comments here about CNA having one! Japanese narrator are still showing such a 'unique' mindset of people with small hearts🙄.

I dont understand why Japanese cant wear their mask properly in Singapore. Lucky he didn't get caught by a SDA, a couple of Japanese in my workplace also have this issue. I don't see how a crocheted mask works, what kind of filtration can you get?

Ghib already has a well-known RU-vid channel, wouldn't it be better for CNA to find a young local host to groom local talent ? Just saying.

It's a thing to support a local artist... But as professionals, don't you think CNA crews will remember and willing to work with a reputable & accountable person in a certain field? Afterall, professional work is all about using the available assets & resources efficiently & effectively. They'll will get trouble if they just beat about the bush gather no moss.... Don't you agree? 🤔😉🤗 And to add to this, he seems like a person whose humble enough, willing to try to do new things, with all the process & details, thorughly. That's a character that suitable to "guide" us in "experiencing" this kind of arsty fartsy activity. It's not just any people who can do this, you know? 😗😏

@@SuccessforLifester I used to called my parents as my sponsors & stakeholders when i was still a student. After I could earn some money, I monthly pays some amount of money to my parents for my living costs with them... Because I also see them as my "landlords". Somebody could have many roles in others lives. A man could be a husband, a father, the head of the family, the landlord of a property, the GM of a company, etc. So, what's the fuss? 😗 A friend of my mom also required her all grown up children to pay her a sum of "room renting" money soon after they could earn their money.... She is their mother, also their "land lady". She did that to teach her children how to be the responsible adults. Is this not acceptable for you? 😗

@@SuccessforLifester Well, did he lied to get another girl to be able to marry again, or to protect his private life & his family? 😗 He got his own consideration.... We should honour someone else's decision if he/she don't wanna to make it public. As long that's not against the law & order of Singapore, that's out of our domain as the spectators. You see, our life will be happier if we're not too fussy about "things" & people... Keep it simple, Silly! 😉💓🤗 WUATB, GBU 🙏😊
