I have a dear friend that lost first her daughter, then her husband and now her son.....she is now alone here on earth......I am sending her this song.....❤
If I recall correctly, the story is, he sang this at the Opry one night. Barely made it thru and as he walked off stage or maybe later on, Vince Gill (I think it was Vince) told him how much he loved the song. Craig told him that he was glad he enjoyed it because he was never going to sing it again. Vince told him that he HAD to because there were so many people that would be able to relate to and use this song as part of their healing process. He finally gave in and recorded it.
I lost my son in 2013. He was 25. I can honestly say Craig puts into words the feeling a parent is left with 💔. Thank God for giving this song to Craig and giving him the strength to perform.
Blake Shelton tweeted and said in many interviews he'd gladly give up his spot on country radio and award shows for fans to push this song to #1 He & Craig are very good friends. Blake wants this song to be #1 . Craig did it live on the Grand Ol Opry that video will rip your heart out. The standing ovation was almost 5 minutes long.
I lost my daughter 12-29-2022. This song has helped me so much. Whenever I feel like I can't take another step, I play this song. It makes me cry but it also gives me hope that it will get better. I owe my sanity to Craig.
He was grieving the lost song and he was having so much pressure on his life and he couldn't deal with it all .He turned to God for help and he hasn't let his Son go from him .
Please watch the live version from the Grand Ole Opry. There is a holy anointing on this performance. After he walked off stage, he said he would never sing it again. Ricky Scaggs told him you need to record this and share it with the world. I am so thankful for Ricky and Craig's courage to follow that advice. An incredibly powerful song and testimony !
The first time he sung it at the Grand Ole Opry he barely made it through it. When he walked off stage Ricky Stagges told an awesome job Craig told him he was glad that he liked it because he was never going to sing it again. Ricky told him he had to for the others that have gone through what you have. It's also in the book.
He sang this live on the Kelly Clarkson show and he did an amazing job. He is so strong. There's no way I'd be able to sing that. Here's the link to the performance ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iK6jnLxUvxA.html
Wow Ashley, that was powerful. This 63 year old truck driver watched it in his truck and cried like a baby. Every death is different, I had a 6 month old daughter, Jana to pass away in 1996.
He did sing it live at the Opry. He said he would never sing it again; it was for him and his family. Ricky Scaggs was off stage and convinced him he could help so many if he would release the song….and he did. His son was 19 and it was a tubing accident on the water.
The PAIN in his face and eyes hurts my heart This has really GUTTED HIM. Unfortunately he has to live this hell the rest of his life. Sure....the shock will wear off eventually.....it's the acceptance of this new reality that takes many years. GOD BLESS his broken heart .
Loosing a child is a pain I wish no parent ever had to experience , my sister lost her baby at 4 months old ( his heart just stopped ) , she is one of the strongest people I know and to see her break , broke me , it’s a pain that goes directly to your soul 🥺😭
My son lost his 1st born and only daughter, when she was 4 yrs old...Another very painful thing to go through, is to watch your child lose their child...Your heart is breaking and you have to be so strong for them, try to hold them up..Such a helpless feeling...
He has said openly that he’s sorry he can’t sing this song at every show because it takes so much out of him. He said it’s painful to sing it too much. God bless him and his family.
That is leaving it all on the field right there. Craig's son was 19. He and a buddy or two were up at the families getaway place on the lake. The day they were due to head back to town, they decided to have a little more time tubing and some kind of accident happened and the young man drowned. Craig (fairly recently I think) was doing a bit of life inventory and decided there was one thing he had left unfinished. He served 17 years in the army between active duty and reserves. He felt like he didn't complete his service since he didn't get his full 20. So on stage he came out in uniform and an army officer swore him back in to the army reserves. Quite a guy, and a talent.
I had no idea about him wanting to finish his 20 years! I’ve always respected him as an artist, family man and faithful servant of Gods, but this adds even more respect I didn’t even know was possible! I knew he was a veteran but didnt realize he served 17 years. I’d be so happy if my son turned out like Craig.
I came across your page due to PTX videos and when I saw you did this song, I knew I HAD to listen your reaction since you’ve spoken about faith. I have a 15 year old son. I saw Morgan in concert years ago and he rode up onto the stage on a dirt bike as it was an outdoor venue.
The 1st tome he ever did this song was live at the Grand Ole Opri. Wjen he finisihrd he said he would never sing it again. His friends talked him into doing it again.
I had this played at my oldest son's funeral last May! I hadn't heard it before when my youngest son died in 2012, I had Carrie Underwood's " See You Again" played at his funeral.
What a beautiful reaction; SUBSCRIBED!❤️ The pain is palpable… as is the hope. Reminds me some of James Blunt’s ‘Monsters’. But Craig’s pain is nearly unimaginable. My Mom was 58 when she passed; we’d known she was sick just 17wks. The only person I felt more sorry for than myself was my Grandmother😔 It’s simply not the natural order of things🥺 Stay safe & love much💖
Hi brother, greetings from across the pond 😊🇬🇧 My understanding is that Craig write this and got it down on tape intending that only close family and friends with DD get to hear it and that subsequently they and his peers in the music industry using gentle persuasion got him to release it and share it with the world. If you can bare to search YT for his 1st EVER public performance of this song at the Grand Ole Opry, again it was his peers that persuaded him do to his, again, it’s a gut-wrencher 😢🇬🇧🇺🇸
Thanks for breaking my heart! That is my absolute worst fear! Losing my children would kill me, because they are my life. I don’t want to know life without them!
B. Thanks for this reaction video. Moved to tears every time I hear it. You have a great voice yourself, in the clips I’ve heard. Hope your own songwriting craft is paying dividends, sir. jp
I lost my daughter at 2 months due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). She was 'perfect' - they couldn't find anything wrong, but she was gone. The loss was something that almost killed us. The fact we had our son was the only reason we could find to go on. The hurt never goes, but you learn to live with the huge hole in your heart. My heart goes out to him. A parent shouldn't have to lose a child. Thanks for your reaction to this.
Very deep lyrics. Both sad and inspirational. It's always sad when someone does young. I guess that's why the One Voice Children's Choir's cover of "One More Light" hits me so hard, but the message is one that needs to be seen by everyone.
Oh by the way I love the Yellow Submarine poster I went to the movie theater and seen it when it first come out I come out with the biggest headache you ever heard of I almost couldn't see it was so bad the color is so vibrant
He went on Kelly Clarkson Show and said it was a drowning accident. But said he thought of the Father My Son and The Holy Ghost while laying in Bed and thot I'll wake up and make a song but something told him No U will forget the words. So he got up and 4 hrs later the song was wrote. Check out his performance on the Opry and He takes a HUGE breathe before he starts.
I have noticed that many North Americans pronounce Craig as crag to rhyme with drag, rather than rhyming with vague and have even hear some mention 'Crag's' List too. The name Graham in another one pronounced like the unit of weight gram, rather than grey 'em.
His son Jerry was 19 and drowned in a tubbing accident on the river. Check out his book God, Family, and Country. I got it on audible and in the chapter that he tells what happens I was crying brought memories of when my nephew drowned. Craig narrates the book too.
Four years ago, my uncle loss his only child. Last November, my uncle was diagnosed with leukemia. We lost him in March. I know he is home with the Father, his Son, amd the Holy Ghost.
Yes, Yes, Yes watch the Grand Ole Opry version which was done somewhere about one year after the accident and then the Kelly Clarkson interview. He tells her what Ricky Scaggs said to him as he was walking off the stage and his response.
Jesus Christ gives us hopes that we will see our loved ones. I lost my Husband James about six years ago last February 6 th at Beloit Memorial hospital in Beloit Wisconsin.
It's not shown and I don't know why well maybe I know show me the Heat was practicing get up there on that stage and that man was broken and I know that feeling that would you're on the floor balling
