I just bought mine yesterday, and got it all set up except for the needle threader. The old Singer from the around 1930 that I learned on didn't have a threader, so I had no clue how to use it. This video was very helpful. I kinda wish there was an ASMR version of these videos.

Bless your soul! I thought mine was broken but when you explained about the little catch that comes through the eye it made so much more sense! I was about to do it manually 😅

That is one area where I have been having problems with on my model 2277 machine and threaded my needle by hand instead, but still have yet to use my machine. I am new to sewing and this is my first machine other than the one very old machine which belonged to my grandmother.

I can’t get mine to work. I don’t know if it’s a manufacture error or that I just can’t do it. I was trying to get it to work for over an hour and half🙁

I had a hard time with this, too, but then my mom (who's actually used a sewing machine before lol) figured out that I wasn't technically pushing the threader down *all* the way. Once I started doing that, it hooked every time. Give it a try and see if that helps!

Hello, should the forks/prongs on the machine go through the eye of needle or incase the needle on the sides, please? My machine is not pulling the thread through the eye of the needle & looping at the back? 😬 Erica x

Erica Bates No, there is something microscopic that you don’t see that is between the prongs that snags the thread. Wrap the thread as she showed around the leg on the left, then pass the thread in front of the needle and then between the fork/prongs on the right. Pull the lever down until that head swivels and it should snag the thread and bring it (forming a loop) back through the eye of the needle.

Thank you Kate for your reply 😁 I will have a Very Close Look & see if there is anything microscopic going through the eye of the Needle 😋 from video's I had watched I discovered this might be the case 😋 but I have a feeling this is not happening on my machine 💙 that's why it is not threading 💙 & truly when I brought my machine about 1 year ago it did thread with the automatic needle threader 💙 & until I got it out recently I had not used it 😋 but thank you, for your helpful reply 😁💜 Erica x

My mechanism won't spring up and away into the machine so I can sew properly. Right out the box, received yesterday. *sigh* I emailed both Singer and Joann Fabric where I bought it but if anyone knows what to do in the meantime...it's COVID-19 so sewing machines are limited and customer service everywhere is backed up. Thx!

I thought so too on mine, but it was just kind of stiff. I pushed a tiny bit harder and it worked. Try pressing down a little further and it should turn. If not it might be defective.

@@hypermeiji95 Christopher Nejman has great tutorials and he speaks in a regular normal voice. these other ladies seem to talk in a tone where they're constantly asking a question Jennie Doan of Missouri Star Quilt company also just talks normal without a question mark behind every sentence. Jennifer of Shabby Fabrics is very easy to listen to.
