Counter a strike from an attacker with this single leg sweep take down, gain control and get away. Self defense taken to the ground. #selfdefense #selfdefence #martialarts #attack #boxing #bjj #legsweep #kevingoat
When you step around and your right foot is ahead, it's a 50-50 situation, and your opponent is also in a good position to take you down with the very same leg sweep. The probably a little less emphasized thing that turns the tide to your favour is breaking his posture and balance.
Many thanks Kevin, An excellent approach. "Inviting" a head attack then countering it and finalizing with an o-soto gari is a real treat! The problem is the distance when waiting to be attacked on the video. -At longer distance, maybe a kick may come as first, starting a different scenario. - At shorter distances, the speed, which cannot be predicted. What if the opponent is faster and more to it has longerhands? In my active times,I have l lost some bouts ahgainst long handed and faster guyes! Consequently, at a short distance, it is safer to make a preemptive move, something like a sticking-hand to be able to catch and evade the oncoming hand attack. while moving forward to the sides. The simultaneuos counteratack is a good idea, but catching or evading comes first! Then, and only then is time for the single leg sweep, but again not letting him close but throwing him backword or sideways. The guy need not be alone. Think of beginners. This is what I need! But I live in Los Angeles Ca….in the valley818……..is there a place you recommend? I don’t want to take MMA or Ninjitsu etc… I need street kombat training only! I will post your channel on my many many media formats etc! Thank u!
What should i do if i am up against a guy that knows how to fight and it's 100lbs heavier than me? 🤔 I am only 14 and still learning how to fight.Keep up the great videos! 👊
Bruce Lee said to us never to poke in the eye (biu-ji): 1. inhumanity; 2. legal liability; 3. assured revenge. Instead, a straight hit (jik-chung) or a side blow (kwa-chou) are preferred and effective. Your YT instruction might be deployed by unstable imitators... to be considered.
