I think a lot of the reason I liked this movie a lot better than 5 is because the house looks almost exactly like the one in the original. I mean the only thing that is different is the kitchen is to the immediate left when the characters go into the house instead of to the right like in the original. But I can easily overlook that because they at least got most of the house right. And it helps that I thought Busta Rhymes was pretty hilarious. I mean I don't think he's meant to be taken seriously. And if he was, he did a great job of making me laugh. I also liked the death scenes too. Plus I didn't mind how they explained how he was back. So, all in all, I liked it.
The best part of H20 is the final moments. Although the whole thing is revolved around the brother/sister storyline, which shouldn't have happened in the first place. I actually found myself enjoying little character moments in the beginning of the movie. When Laurie tells her boyfriend that there is something in her past she hasn't been open about, and the boyfriend just says "I know." Little moments like that in the beginning had me absorbed into the film, but when it comes to the part where it's actually a Halloween film, I really don't think its very good at all
I think Resurrection would have been a better movie if the first 15 mins between Laurie and Michael took place at the end the end. It would have been a cliff hanger. Also, eliminate Busta and I personally think it would be a decent move
I did like how it tried to satirize reality TV the concept came close to working but didn't quite stick The Landing this movie still has enough entertaining moments I don't mind popping it in from time to time besides I have a soft spot for this one seen it in theater was homeless at the time in nice to forget about my trouble for a little bit
Busta is not even a terrible actor he was very good in Higher Learning and even very good in his small role in Narc. But he was an abomination in this and should be ashamed. It was not funny even in a bad way. It makes me sick lol.
Yea i didn't like Resurrection at all lol but enjoyed H20 thought it was a good movie, What do you think about the new one their making also there filming in my hometown
John niner8 I actually did a reaction video to JLC coming back if you wanna check it out. I’m definitely excited but am annoyed at how confusing the storyline is haha. Where is your home town?
Who would have thought that this unstoppable killing machine who gets up after being shot, stabbed, burned and exploded can be easily defeated if his victims had only learned to spin kick. If Laurie had just spent the 20 years between Halloween and H20 learning kickboxing, the movie would have lasted the five minutes she took to kick Michael in the head until he couldn't take anymore and we wouldn't have had to sit through the rest of it.
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 Yeah, I did. Honestly, I felt their refutations rested a but too much on the presupposition that Laurie IS the target. It's like they bundled up everything Michael did on the night - following Annie around and extensively stalking her,, placing her on the bed with the tombstone, making no attempt to actually approach Laurie and hang around the Doyle house even after Annie was dead - and said: "Well clearly he was just doing that to mess with Laurie!" Well yeah, if you start out with the presupposition that Laurie was the intended target, it becomes really easy to hand wave away Michael's actions as being an attempt to mess with Laurie. Which is why I think it's better not to start with that presupposition and to look at Michael's actions purely in the context of what's presented in the movie. One thing they did mention that I found interesting is when Tommy sees Michael through the window, they suggested that he's staring at the Doyle house. I always interpreted that scene as Michael standing with his back to Tommy, and Tommy is seeing Michael staring back at the house where Annie is (given we see Michael staring up at the window only seconds previously and then he moved around the house to get a better vantage by the time Laurie looks). I've looked at that scene again on the blue ray and I'm honestly having a hard time telling if Michael is looking at Tommy, or if he's got his back to Tommy. He's just a dark silhouette so it's difficult to tell but he may in fact be looking at Tommy. Of course, you could also say he's looking at the trick or treaters who are walking by in the same shot wondering if they're going to come up to the house or not. That part's a little ambiguous. If they're right and he's looking directly at the Doyle house, then that's certainly an indication he still had some interest in Laurie. But I didn't find their other rebuttals very compelling because it all rests on the bedrock of assuming that Laurie is the target in the first place and then shaping the interpretation of Michael's actions around that.
I don't totally hate this movie yeah it has its share of Miss steps but it has its share of positives to like most of the sequels I feel if the script had been reworked better it would have been good
the scene with Busta yelling at Mike is brilliant.. You can guess what he thinking, Wait, this guy is dressed up like me and he just ordered mw to go kill his bitch? he even left the door unlocked for me? this is too easy. ok Freddy, ill get your silly ass later. thanx for freebie (and if Mike had killed him there, whats his next move? #TrickOrTreat)
I actually really liked resurrection. I still love it. I think it's mostly just about the nostalgia because it was the first halloween movie I saw when I was like 4. But every time I go back and watch it, I still have a good time watching it. I do hate the weak excuse they made for how Michael is still alive after Laurie Strode decapitated him, but that's the only thing I dislike. I think the reason I don't totally hate the reality TV show aspect of it is because I know if there was really a show like that, I would definitely watch it.
Busta Rhymes made this film iconic to me. I remember the trailers to this film when I was a kid they scared the shit outta me. Also the whole premise of the movie was ahead of it's time.
Busta stoodout, some folks are just small-minded. The worst acting in the whole movie had to be between Jen(the lead( and the deacpitated blonde, yet people will try to sell the idea that Busta is the movie's worst choice lol... imagine that. Being the show was gonna obviously be staged, somebody had to dress up like him. People be so busy analyzing the wrong shit, they miss the point of the movie. Was definitely better than H20, which wasn't hard to be ctfu
The worst part of this whole thing is that Rob Zombie found a way to make even worse movies. It should have been impossible but ole beard fetish boy found a way.
Wow. I admit the remake was not GREAT but it was Citizen fuckin Kane compared to THIS dogshit. As for RZs H2 it was probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite of the entire series.
I remember how excited I was to see this movie after H2O. I was a little confused as to why they were making another one but I was still excited. I took a girl on a date to see this movie, can't imagine she thought much of me after it was over as this movie was the biggest pile of horseshit I have ever seen. Busta Rhymes should have been brought before a firing squad for being in this movie, good Lord he was terrible. Didn't he do a roundhouse kick to Michael's face or something?
......because my bf never edited together busta rhymes kung fu kicking michael in time to the song 'kung fu fighting' along with tyra banks dancing while making her hot chocolate.....
Sorry that i went into so much detail haha, i get carried away: This movie is really bad.. but i find it more entertaining then Halloween 5, When i 1st watched this film i fucking HATED! it with a passion, i almost turned it off half way through, i dislike almost every character apart from that guy who messages the main girl and helps her but even he's kind of bland and uninteresting, i don't like the whole found footage thing, it's just annoying that during most scenes it cuts to a low quality shitty camera angle just to say "hey look this is what the audience is seeing" when i don't care, although on the other hand it's kind of cool, because when the girl is getting live updates from that guy about Micheal's whereabouts it's an interesting idea and something we haven't seen in the franchise before and probably never will again, as i said i pretty much dislike all the characters and the whole idea of them doing that stupid show in the Myers house.. but what i do like is that Micheal's house has been invaded by a bunch of stupid teenagers and he's going round picking them off one by one for trespassing on his property and the fact that they're all annoying teens just makes it more enjoyable as they die, some of the kills are pretty cool like the 1st one with the camera guy where he stabs him with the tripod while that woman wasn't paying attention to the camera's i thought was cool, i like the scene where Busta Rhymes is walking dressed as Micheal and Micheal is walking behind him, i like to imagine what Micheal must have been thinking in that situation haha, also you said it's the exact same mask in the review but i'm certain it's a different mask isn't it? it looks cheaper and less detailed, yes it's stupid that he would be dressed as Micheal in the 1st place but seeing Micheal being his regular self around these idiotic people is enjoyable, it's not a great film by any stretch of the imagination but it has it's moments and i like the idea of Micheal getting stupid people out of his territory instead of him going after people in their territory, i liked how Micheal looked also, he looked better in this then H5 and H20 in my opinion, most people dislike his mask in this movie but i think it looks cool, the kung fuh was stupid but it only happened in one scene and it was unsuccessful in the long run as Micheal instantly recovered, the whole TV show idea is very stupid but i think that's what they were going for, it's a stupid idea that backfires badly and results in most people dead thanks to Micheal and their own stupidity, i do wish though that Busta Rhymes and that girl died at the end that would have been cool.. i mean all the other annoying characters died why couldn't those ones haha, even though i enjoy this film i would enjoy it so much more if by the end they we all dead and Micheal wins and just carries on living under his house as usual, also the 1st 15 minutes in the insane asylum was well done and atmospheric and i like the crazy guy at the beginning who's obsessed with serial killers and the fact that Micheal gives him the knife to frame him but he's just so crazy that he's honored by it, i'm not a fan that they had to kill off Lori even though the last film wrapped up her story pretty nicely but at the same time it's kind of satisfying seeing Micheal finally achieve his goal although the way Lori planned it all out was stupid i like the rest of the 1st part, the Lori bit is meh, most of the scenes with the kids and almost every character is just throw away shit but once it gets to the scenes where Micheal starts doing his thing it's fun, i feel the really cheesy stupid, generic American Pie-esc scenes and characters kind of play well off the more serious brooding Micheal stuff, he's there destroying those stupid stereotypical movies because they came straight into his domain, that's how i felt watching it though and i enjoyed it because of that, see it as more of a parody of those stupid high school movies that shows them who's boss as Micheal punishes them.
MechaMinilla99 yeah, I gave it credit where credit was due... haha. I could do without 100% of the film 😀 but I’m glad you found things to enjoy. I like 5 wayyyyyy more.
I think i'd still say that i like 5 more but when it comes to how much they entertain me Resurrection just does it more for me, in 5 i didn't like Loomis very much.. he just felt weird and creepy in 5, i didn't like Jamie either in 5 as she was mute and it was kind of stupid also i didn't like Tina.. BUT yes 5 is definitely a much better film and i'd rank it higher just it's very slow and feels bland compared to H4 H2 or H6 for example where as Resurrection is SO bad in most aspects but i find it entertaining when it gets to Micheal, also yeah i did.. i'm a really fast typer when using a real keyboard haha, are you going to review the Rob Zombie films? i'd be interested in what you think, personally i like them a hell of a lot more then Resurrection, more then 5 but then all the others i like more.
I see "flames" wnenever I think about this movie.I HATE it beyond belief. The only thing I will admit to liking is the look of the original Myers House.I am disgusted with Rick Rosenthal and I can't believe the guy that directed the kick ass HALLOWWEN 2 directed this piece of SHIT!! Great Review Jason!!
How anyone can watch RZs films (especially the 2nd one) and say THIS crap was better is beyond my comprehension. It is like how people say something so stupid like how they hate Halloween III because "it doesnt even have Michael Myers in it!" Lol. Trying to argue logic with people who renounce reason is like giving medicine to the dead.
Whats crazy is "fans" say the scene don't make sense but its a clever homage the ghost sheet and glasses scene of the original. Busta thinks its Freddy, Linda thought it was bob.. I guess folks just wanted another literal ghost sheet scene instead lol If we gonna ask why is buster yelling at Mike, we can also ask why is Linda flashing mike? Glad Rick Rosenthal picked bust, he saved the movie. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-w-5A8EIdrfE.html
He doesn't like H20? Wtf is wrong with you! When the predecessors were so bad how are you supposed to follow up to them? You cant! Just like how the villains keep coming back, it's how it works.
Movie Master haha nope. I get a lot of shit for it but I like what I like. I’m not huge into the meta self awareness, it feels cheap and mocking of a genre I genuinely love. Plus they just aren’t very interesting to me weirdly enough, the characters are too theatrical and the dialogue is clearly written, there is nothing realistic about it which would be fine if I liked the other aspects.
I disagree but I'm not going to fight you on it. We all have our own tastes and I think I like enough of the same movies as you not to be pissed off by not liking one franchise. I disagree that its lazy though since it takes more work often times (I like scream two more, not a 90s horror). I'm assuming you don't like Scary Movie, krampus, trick r treat, or cabin in the woods either.
Sinister Cinema Reviews .. what about the small nods to Psycho and how Janet Lee makes a cameo.. not to mention the same nurse from the original opens the film. They definitely overlooked some of our favorites memories of the Halloween franchise but honored many at the same time. And that ending.. if we ever cross paths, we shall duel on this one.. ⚔️
