Hi Dale, I just wanna say thank you!!! I have been learning so much from your videos and just really enjoy watching all your playthroughs in general! I do hate that you keep making me go broke by playing all these awesome games, because I have no self control XD. Keep it up, sir!
Excellent playthrough! It is easy to forget those tech upgrades, but I don't think that hindered you too much. This is my favorite scenario in the campaign. You have to thwart a LOT, but the villains are manageable so it doesn't feel too overwhelming.
@Jonathan Weeks This one seemed like the easiest to "manage" the game mechanics. I've only played this scenario once ... and so far, this is the one that stood out for me too.
42:05 I vote for you did not defeated the side scheme. There would be either "when defeated" instead of Forced Interrupt or the Forced Interrupt text would contain: "when this side scheme would be defeated flip it instead"
At 35 min, when you had a huge thwart turn with Miles, you didn't got after Light at the End which only had 4 threat remaining. Any reason for that? Sinister Six is easily one of my favorite new encounters. It's very well designed!
@Mr Dragonfox First play, wasn't sure if I was ready to flip that card ... and I like keeping the main scheme low. Just my preference, definitely could change depending on playstyles and deck builds. :)
Rules explanations/clarifications/mistakes: 1. Looks like the active villain marker will only move if the villain attacks. 2. Just note, the Web of Life and Destiny does not exhaust. I just like exhausting things. :)
There's no arrow after the when they attack and damage clause, so I don't think they need to deal damage to move the token, just attack. I could be wrong about that, though.
@Jason Mickley UberStax comes 6 pieces to a pack, and 4 trayz to a box ... and I go 5 wide of each. So 5 trayz and 15 pieces for the holders. Hope that helps! :)
I think you made a mistake at 33:45 You undid adding the dart counters in order to let Spiderman play Maria Hill giving Gwen another card that she could pitch for dart counters. But Spiderman can't play an ally unless it is his turn and the Dart addition is an Alter-Ego Action so Gwen can only do that on her turn. You seem to have allowed Miles to play an ally on Gwen's turn so she could get a less valuable card to discard for darts. Am I correct that this isn't allowed? It's an easy thing to miss when playing double handed but wanted to be sure I didn't misinterpret something.
Also I learned something new from this play. I didn't know you can you exhaust your Laser Goggles for Homeland Intervention (at 35:15)? It is a SHIELD card but it doesn't have a normal way of exhausting so it seems weird that you can use it that way since it is essentially no downside to exhaust cards that still fully function when exhausted. But after checking rules and FAQs it looks like this is allowed. I've been making things harder on myself.
Characters can take actions on another players turn, so Spider-Man can play the ally on his turn, and Gwen can take also take an action on Spider-Mans turn. And Homeland Intervention lets you exhaust any shield card, whether they have an exhaust ability or not. :) Hope that helps!
Oh yeah, thanks, not sure why that confused me since I have played with the ability to take actions on another player's turn. I've just always done it with things that help the player whose turn it was so I guess this felt different. Thanks for the reply and the great playthroughs.
@Matus I just wasn't sure if the first sentence is to be part of the condition of the second, so if the first sentence doesn't happen ... does the second happen, or not? So the ruling is "has to attack, and damage" and if not ignore the second sentence. Thanks!
@@SaschaKleiber The way it’s written, looks like you only move the counter to the next villain if they attack and damage you, but the FAQ at the end of the rulebook seem to suggest the counter should move after they activate (in this case, attacking). How is that intended to work? “The active counter will only move after a villain attacks and damages an identity.” - Boggs
So many moving parts. It took you nearly an hour. That means when I try and play this scenario I can expect to fritter away an entire afternoon not including getting completely lost in the sequence more than once. They are a nice team together. I like how Gwen does most of her best work in the villain phase although I’m sure that’s yet one more thing to confuse me. GG and onto Le Finale Grandè.
@@DaletheCasualGamer it’s still one of the top five scenarios, imo. Realizing it will take a few playthroughs to get every nuance to work is daunting. This from a guy who forgets “retaliate” , no matter who it’s attached to, with such great regularity that it’s a running joke ‘round these parts.
So because of wording, you can either do what you already did or replay it to wording, but "Hindered" only takes effect if it's "revealed". Since Light At The End was "put into play" the "hindered" wouldn't have triggered.
@@DaletheCasualGamer I'm chalking it up to just an oversight. Because of "putting into play" isn't the same as "when revealed". At the same time, some other schemes have "hinder" but those do get revealed, this is the first time I've seen this type of situation.
@@DaletheCasualGamer That's why I said playing it was both ways. But it's not the first time they've done this to the players. Lol. They just misworded the main scheme, that's my thinking.
This scenario has the worst setup explanation of all scenarios ever. Took us a while to get some kind of idea how it works. Especially the sentence on „Sinister Synchronization“ (main scheme 1A). It can also be interpreted as: „Select villains… Put those villains into play. Put the active token on one of those 3 and set aside the other 2“! It’s extremely confusing. We were wondering why the hell are there two set aside groups of villains now? There’s set aside, another set aside, in play… it doesn’t explain if the active token can only move between active villains or ALL villains… so much info is missing there! Also: what happens to a villains remaking hit points when he is set aside because of his attack and damage effect?
@Sascha Kleiber I found the rules could have been better explained for several of the card interactions in the set. I've heard that the official rules reference is going to be updated "soon".
