I had my wisdom teeth removed with only a local. guy I went to had a lot of trouble with one of them, was yanking HARD. Then I felt a crack, he pulled out the tooth, bringing a piece of my jawbone with it. Whole half of my face was crazy swollen for weeks

No. There was a missing tooth there and his sinus caved downward. It needed to be pushed back to re-aligned with there rest. The diagram is bad and doesn't show this.

Your back teeth (Molars) are used for breaking & grinding hard foods like nuts, which is why they are at the back of our jaw near the hinge (like a nut-cracker) where teeth are thicker & strongest. Our front teeth are just for crisp foods like fruits and our canines are for tearing meats.

@@Paul-hp6zp Done on same day… Sinus lift, 4X bone grafting, 2 Extractions and 2 old tooth roots and 2 route canals and 4 Implants Have 28 crowns to put in today Very painful after surgery when the local anesthesia wears off & my face is swollen a bit, hard to sleep first night but the pain was very minimum the next morning I just take the pills they give me, Still can’t move my mouth very much but honestly so far so good Keep you updated when I get crowns 👍

Not everyone necessarily needs a bone graft. It depends if you've had bone loss or not much to begin with, but you should definitely get that checked out.

I'm sorry your surgery didn't go well. It's really hard to trust these doctors when your life's on the line.

Your Dentist should have done a CT scan, and measured the bone thickness.. I went to Mexico for dental implants, they are world class dentists. They dont need the practice, they are experts in Implants.

The thing is, if dentists would put a scafold material in... after removing the teeth, people wouldnt have the bone loss!!!! And then dentures would fit until the wear down!!!! or if they decided on implants...well they would have even more support!!

The only difference being they'll also send you into debt for the rest of life along with lousy service. Kinda surprising for a country that's 8th for GDP per capita. "Land of the sick, home of massive debt" was the takeaway.

She went to dentist diagnosed and had cement placed into her jaw after having all of her beautiful pulled. Waired 3 mos, cement filled her jaw bone to strengthen. Waited 3 months then had the female ends of screw holds ,waited 3 months then finally had her new implants. However they came in blocks of 4 teeth not singular teeth. She bit down and cracked a block of 4 and her jaw. She had to wait four months for the cement again then replaced. I went for her first implant to drive her home & signed a chevk she had prepaired but i filled in their bill. $14,000 + She Later Got Lung Cancer Which is not Inheirent in my family. I had a good dentist i felt was scary his teeth lloked like Frankensteins. Gold silver white messy wired in. He kept wanting to pull my wisdom teeth. I said no. ThankGod. He drilled and drilled and filled my mouth with silvet. Feel it made me ill most of my life. We don‘t use this Kind of a saw, if you need more hard tissue for an implant, there is no other way then a bone graft by external Sinus Lift technique, otherwise you need a removable prosthetic😔

About 90% successful after 5 years. Most of the implants that fail are because of bad home care-they do need to be kept very clean.

It's not a mess at all. I had it done, no problems, no issues and it wasn't a painful recovery.

I had a sinus lift and bone graft procedure 2 weeks ago. I get the stitches removed tomorrow. The procedure itself wasn’t painful at all but after a few days it became a little sore. The worst part was all the stitches in the way and not being allowed to blow my nose for 2 weeks per post dental instructions. $4500 out of pocket and who knows what the implant will cost. 😮

@@rjm2024 depending where u live, a single implant can cost between 3k - 5k, then you have to pay for the crown, which is usually between $1500 - $2500.

Well, I'm 78. An adult with all there teeth has 32 teeth. I have 14. I've decided that putting out all that money to restore my teeth so that I would look presentable as I lay in a casket isn't smart. Soup is on the menu ! 😊

They used cadaver bone on my sinus lift, but when I had my back surgery, they took my own bone from my hips. Where they took the bone from my hips hurt more than the actual surgery did!

They completely sterilize the bone in a furnace...ie burn away all organic material untill just the mineral structure remains. If you get an infection it was likely from the surgery and not from the implant.

So there's enough bone for a screw for the implant.

It's not very common to have an allergy to titanium. It does happen but not often

This is a lateral sinus lift - which is used all the time when you need more than 3mm of vertical bone height - what you are referring to is a vertical sinus lift - which is more common and required for less than 3mm of bone height on average. Also you should definitely be using Desah burs for that. Please do your research and don’t talk about things you don’t know.
