In this exclusive video, hear the thoughts of Sir Alex Ferguson and Peter Schmeichel as you watch highlights of the 1999 UEFA Champions League final, when Manchester United came back to stun Bayern.
@@Gersemi_Trader the real deal was that bayern wasnt supposed to be on that damn final. Dynamo Kiev from Rebrov and company was killing everything. Sadly, we couldn't see such final. Lucky Bayern. Maybe lucky Mutd.
"Jancker hit the bar. I knew that wasn't going in. And I don't know if that's the truth. But in my mind, I know, that if it's actually going in, I'm saving it."
One my fav.match....Really thrilling to watch...Still remembering watch this match at midnight with my brother and screaming till my dad woke up...True memories
@@fabiokop5128 1999 was way better for me. As a neutral viewer, I don't want one of the teams to be up by 3 goals. Fantastic to watch as a liverpool fan of course, but especially in a final, I don't want to be watching a team chasing a 3-0 lead.
Freshmen year of High School coming back from school, running home just so can catch the last ten minutes of this match. Boy o boy did I catch those last ten minutes.
This game will forever be my special moment.not just becoz united won it but it is a final game i watch with my late brother a die hard united fan,he actually bring me to support this club.
Greatest moment of my life - up to now I could never believe myself saying Manchester United, the Champions of Europe 1999. The only problem I had, was when I tried celebrated both goals going in, and ultimately the game, my sister telling me to shut up, cos she was trying to sleep - B*tch!!!!!! But what a moment - I'll never forget it....
This final still remains in my memory. I wasn't a Bavarian by then but the emotion and heartbreak I felt despite being a neutral supporter made me fall in love with my club FC Bayern Munich. Mia San Mia
1999 Scholl and Jancker hit the bar After this game, Blomqvist, played for IFK Gothenburg team that knocked United in 94-95 has a long injury, never played for United again and eventually sold. McClaren later appointed as England Manager 2008 Drogba and Lampard hit the bar After this game, Hargreaves, played for Bayern team that knocked United in 00-01 has a long injury, only play 5 more matches in 3 season and eventually sold Queiroz later appointed as Portugal Manager
In my country was 01hr... 80 mins match played i went to sleep believing utd lost it.... when i wake up later my uncle told me actually ur team won.... i didnt believe his word... he asked to check the bbc news

United had a more difficult road to the final plus Scholes and Keane were suspended in the final so they're definitely deserved it,they were fantastic all season...Oh that semi-final against Juventus, what a victory against a team with prime Zidane,a team that reached the final in 96,97 and 98...Sit down and applaud class!

Schmeichel couldn't have saved neither Scholl or Jancker shots had they been on target , what a liar. Just admit that your team was very lucky on the night.

Im a liverpool fan and I have to say this was better than Istanbul cos 2 goals scored in injury time .. If liverpool had won Istanbul 4.3 then I'd say Istanbul was better 😊
Greatest robbery in football history. We often here about "playing the United way" but that night United played like Mourinho's Chelsea and fluked their way to an undeserved CL win at the expense of a much greater side. I see it as great justice that this dispicable, shithouse club is now saddled with most cynical, negative manager world football has ever seen and one who's style of football is marooned in the noughties. If anything was mean't to be, it was this. Long may your suffering continue. Wankers.
Poon Child Same shots as Bayern More shots on target than Bayern More possession than Bayern Way more corners than Bayern More goals than Bayern How were Bayern a much better team? Played Bayern 3 times that tournament, didn't lose. Had the lead in both group games but it was they who scored late goals to help them get through the group with ManUtd. In the final ManUtd were missing their 2 best players (Keane & Scholes, who both scored against Bayern that season) and ManUtd still won the final without them. Had Bayern won they still wouldn't have won the competition unbeaten like ManUtd DID (and also in 2008). ManUtd had to defeat Inter and Juventus in the quarter and semi-finals. Bayern only had Kaiserslautern and Dynamo Kiev. ManUtd won and deserved it, get over it you phoney. Yes there were moments Bayern could've made it 2-0 but they didn't (just like ManUtd didn't in 2008 when they should've had the final won much earlier than they did but at least they still found a way to win that time as well) ManUtd won fair and square and were the best team that tournament you only have to look at some of the games against Barca, Juventus etc... I can think of many Champions league winners since (and before) who were much less worthy winners. ManUtd won the perfect treble that season despite being up against so many big team's in both knockout competitions they won (FAcup defeated Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, only played 1 lower division team and they were top of their league). ManUtd have probably had the most unlucky champions league exits so at least give credit where it's due when they win and win in such a great style like they did.
