Sir Ed did not take my question as disrepectfully. He took it as someone who had done a lot of research and found in various places that the foto he took of Norgay often was mistakenly identified as him in books and otherwise. The point was to verify there was not a foto of him on the summit. As I said then, "this speaks volumes about you (and your modesty.) If he had been offended, he would have tole me to leave instead of my staying all day for what was to have been a one-hour session.
For the record! The climb of Tenzing and Hillary (as it's known) was after the principal try of Hunt,.. failed! With all the grioup of sherpas, (due to weather). Their climb was a "solo", somebody had to take the photos!
I wish I could see the comment you were replying to, as if he thought you were trying to prove he never made the climb himself. It is modest and it's a shame more reporters didn't take note of that.
