Pleases stop making comments about how they are miss treated (rusting away) or how they are over priced. They are not just for collectors but for cities who need them and a couple thousand dollars is reasonable price. I WILL DISABLE COMMENTS IF THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN! Though I don't mine if you post something like poor little tbolt, thats okay, and please don't make rude comments about the owned, he is a really great guy.
Jeff said ThunderBeams and Model 2 are not for sale to collectors (Unless you want to pay the big bucks).

How much would a 3 phase or 1 phase Penetrator, Banshee, or Allertor that has damaged fiberglass but a free spinning rotor cost?

Thank you! Those sirens are there for a reason, and it isn't the end of the world if a few sirens are salvaged or scrapped! I mean, nothing lasts forever!

ive seen a 612 on Conowingo dam in Conowingo Maryland! EOWS 612s are my second favorite siren next to the P-50! :D

well i like loud stuff. so where is these graveyards and why are these sirens so darn expencive. i dont want a big fancy one just somthing loud to anoy the nabors with and is there any laws aginst having them or useing them. :)

Have you been to Fulton? If so I've got some questions for you... How much are they charging for a P-50 or other sirens? When did you go? Did you see the old River Forest Thunderbolt there or the old Berwyn STL-10? Elmhurst Thunderbolts? What all does Fulton have besides the obvious P-50's you can see on Google maps?

It just bugs me to watch them lay there and rust. If I could, I'd go over there and buy a couple. But I'm a little to far from there. :(

The offset Series B 1000T that used to reside at Salter Park was purchased by a collector about a month or so ago.

I have never been to Fulton, but I was in contact with the guy who manages the sirens last year. He got a chance to tell me the prices. P-50s are over $15,000. Cyclones are over $10,000 and the penetrators are not for sale. He has tons of older federals that I think he would be willing to let go for a hefty fee. Fulton has almost anything.

Pardon me, I'm about to ask a lot of questions... Did they say how much some of them cost? Did you buy one? Did they have any P-50's or Hurricanes? (Another graveyard in Illinois has about 20 P-50's) What was your favorite one there? What was the rarest one there? I'd totally like to go buy something there someday!

Fully restored maybe, but I thought you were talking scrapped as is sirens, even so how much restoration can be involved with a mechanical siren anyhow? A motor, bearings, paint, maybe a gearbox of some kind? There is less to them then the average motorcycle or a cheap car.

They aren't crazy. Fully restored, ready to run, and with controls 15k isn't a bad price. Keep in mind, these are prices to towns as well.

Got to remember 50 horse electric motors cost quite the pretty penny. Let alone all the fiberglass, metal and time put into those beasts. The controls are pretty complex pieces of machinery too. I mean 10-15K seems like a good price to sell to a town, but not to a collector. Which is why it seems so high

Those all look really good... why wouldn't they at least sell these? I know they're extremely heavy but if you can get one of those out of there you could take home something nobody on the Siren Board owns! Even a Whelen would be cool.

Not trying to sound nasty but where is he getting these crazy prices from? Sirens are interesting and all but it's not like they have a collector siren auction equivalent to Barret Jackson or Southerby"s. I would imagine that the vast majority of old sirens either get tossed in the scrap metal or rust away in a field. It's not like people are lining up to buy them, unless you have a rural property you couldn't even fire one up, rather a limited market I would think.

You are better off going here. Fulton is asking an arm and a leg compared to WSS (this place). No hurricanes or P-50s have ever come through this place. The rarest one is probably the chrysler which is not for sale, and probably won't ever be.

I can understand why he doesn't just want to give them away, because people would be swarming around there taking everything they could get their hands on. But I think he could at least sell some of them for a small price. Such as the one's that he knows he isn't going to use :/ Its really sad, especially how you said its a "Siren Retirement Center where they go to Rust in Pieces." If you could get me the address of the place I would love to come by and talk to the owner sometime.

Yes at 1:32 the bottom two are 812s 812s have 8 speakers there is only one video of one on yt and it is horrible sounding

The brand new ones would be 18,000. They would never sell the used ones for that much ( The Chrysler, maybe, if they do sell it)

no such thing as an 812 but there are 612 and 412's 412 are rare and there are also WHELEN's 4008 and 3016 (same look)

Why are we paying people who can't find work free money? Let's put them to work fixing these sirens. They can still save lives. Our government has money to give away. Let's invest it in doing something positive like fixing these sirens and giving them to places where they are really needed. Where is this so-called grave yard and who runs it? John@Struve.US
