I met Sissy in New York .... at an event honoring the 20th anniversary of Missing. She is exactly what you see here. Charming, real, a delightful human being. I couldn't believe she talked to me for nearly 15 minutes. I loved every second of that conversation. Later that evening she introduced me as her good friend.... preceded by "what's your name again?" She's beautiful and fantastic. I love her.

I was terrified of Sissy Spacek for years because I first saw her in Carrie when I was 8. Why my Mom let me watch that at 8 is beyond me. I avoided all her movies until I was a teenager and saw her in If These Walls Could Talk. Such an amazing actress who clearly loves her craft and isn’t doing it for fame. I love her voice and natural style too.

This was so good I went and looked at GQ's selection of other conversations with actors about their characters. Unfortunately, this is the only woman. I waited on Sissy Spacek, 15 years ago, at a party at a country club here in Virginia. She is a big star, but she was amazingly patient and polite. Every time I served her, she made it a point to look at me in my face and smile and say, “Thank You.” She is ‘First Class’, all the way! Love her!

I really enjoyed listening to Sissy Spacek reminisce about her movie roles. She has long been one of my favorite actors, she is so real. I particularly loved her role as Loretta Lynn in Coal Miner’s Daughter… so much that I honestly can’t remember how many times I’ve seen it, she was perfect in that film! She has the most wonderful honest outlook on whatever she’s talking about. What a gem.

All her movies, I’m so glad that her older daughter resembles her so much and pursued a musical career, the one she was not able to fulfill -but that is ok as I’m glad she pursued acting and became the icon that she is. @@GoryRory Yeah, I didn't hate the last episode as much as other people did (I was pretty satisfied with the ending tbh), but it did feel weaker compared to The Queen. This episode was so exhilarating that as soon as I finished it I thought, "there's no way the following episodes can get better than this". Unfortunately I was right.

I remember watching Carrie at the drive-in with my oldest brother when I was around 8 and it was the original release. My mom had no clue it was a horror movie or that it was rated R. I had nightwear's for a week. And a few days after we watched it my mom asked one of her girlfriends who was a major movie buff about it. Oh my God she was ready to kill us for tricking her into letting me see it. I thought of Sissy as Carrie for many years. Until I saw Coal Miners Daughter. Now I think of her as Lorretta Lynn FOREVER. She just seems to have such a kind and sweet person, And she must be in her late sixties by now. I still love her.

Such a down to earth person who never let stardom go to her head or get all messed up with plastic surgery, to me she is the best actress of her generation. Coal Miners Daughter is one of the best movies of all time and her Oscar was so deserving for that role.

Love you, girl. Also should have mentioned "Crimes of the Heart," she was nominated for an Oscar for that. It's a great ensemble film and she gives an unforgettably wacky performance. Who else could make an attempted suicide so endearing and amusing--"I'm havin' a bad day."

I've been a fan of Sissy Spacek ever since I was a little girl. I had watched 'Carrie' with my mom when it was on tv. So the swear words and nudity was cut. I was maybe 7 or 8 and she was so amazing in that movie. Ever since then I've been a huge fan of hers. I really loved her in An American Haunting. I haven't seen her in any movie since 'Carrie' and 'Coal Miner's Daughter' (another amazing movie I watched with my mom). So I had to see this movie and absolutely loved it. She is my most favorite actress of all time,

She's just one of the greats! She can be in a scene for 30 seconds and not speck a word, and she automatically steals the scene. She's a national treasure! Only wish she would get more leading roles nowadays like how Meryl Streep always gets them. Sissy is beautiful and one of the greatest actresses of our time!
