This movie was on when my dad was dying from cancer and this part made me cry so much, but I didn’t want to cry in front of him, so I walked my dogs around my neighborhood and listened to this on repeat. He passed on 10/11/21 and I can’t explain how or why this song comforts me but it does. I miss my daddy so much ❤️❤️❤️

The moment when you realize that A: the nuns are actually singing (save for the overdubbed soprano) B: That this is an actual Catholic Hymn C: That despite being a kitschy movie, the choral harmony involved here is really quite good As a choir nerd most of my life, I wanted to hate this movie, especially when the Alto/Contraltos were referred to as Basses. Then I heard these ladies actually sing. I may consider myself a pagain, bbut this music was something beautiful, regardless of whom or what you pray to.

I love this movie and this scene so much. We had chorus in elementary and I loved it so much I took Chorus as an elective in middle school every year, then in high school it was chior but I couldnt vibe with it. Got too meh for me the teacher made it boring. But I love singing along with this part. I love all the singing movies out there.
