this is why i dont even offer to help and damn sure wont if they ask. we had an ash scattering cruise for our mom - like she asked before she died - me and my brother were able to pay our own way but going by history were pretty sure our sister wouldnt be able to. sure enough even after my brother gave her a portion of one of the small life insurance policies and almost a year to get her shit together she still wasnt able to make it. yeah im sure we could have been more generous and helped pay her way but we kind of dont want to be enablers either

@@adjustableWench That’s sad, but you did the right thing. My sister unexpectedly died a year ago and I was pretty sure her husband wouldn’t be able to pay for the funeral. I privately told my nephew if they needed help paying for her funeral all they needed to do was ask. My nephew told me later that he and his sister paid for the funeral because their Dad spent every thing he had on cigarettes and beer 🙄

are you sure, is not only the plaintiff paid is they lose the case, I never knew both get paid, I know thy get paid an appearance fee and flight and hotel, but didn't know if they loose the case the channel pays it,

@@mel...sThis isn’t a real court. Judge Judy is an arbiter. The outcome of an arbitration isn’t public record. That’s one of the incentives for coming on the show. The plaintiff gets a quick payout if they win and the defendant doesn’t have a civil judgment entered against them if they lose.

@@lynne709 not true at all. U can google many of there names and see the judgments against them. Its far from confidential. For instance... your policd dept may not post mugshots but 3rd parties do and ppl can eaaily access them

Not necessarily. I know people who only work in retail during the holiday season which makes them seasonal workers. That not to say they don’t do other jobs other times of the year.

What are you talking about? The defendant was the one who agreed to pay the plaintiff. Logically makes no sense to except the jobless brother to pay and the defendant is a fool to marry an addict but even more of a fool to stay with him while he’s in jail. Surely she thinks she can do better but some people like having someone who can’t physically go anywhere as a partner.
