I think the point DK was trying to make about the Stilts vs Sterilizers is that the sterilizers have a design theme going for them; they're robot flying bird boys. I think the floating pulpit is great. It reminds me of all the 80s cartoon villain escape pods. It looks like the Sisters just arrived on the planet in their drop cathedral but the Canoness Superior was in the middle of a sermon and decided to take her pulpit with her so she can finish her speech.

So, what I think you're looking for in regards to the Paragon Warsuit is Internal Consistency. As well as Direct consistency. The internal consistency in which something is too different from other things of it's like For example the Nundam compared to the Dread. The direct consistency issue is the difference between the upper and lower part. So, the reason your brain doesn't "Get It" is because your brain is trying to make connections to things it already knows and things that aren't like it, as well as seeing something contradicting itself.

Injected 'feelings' might not be so strange. If they've isolated the neurochemicals that drive emotions of shame and guilt, then flooding penitent engine 'pilots' with them could do just that.

1:32:50 Back when this was released, AP was treated as "ignore the armor save of any armor with this value or higher." This would mean a bolter, which was an AP 5 weapon would ignore any armor saves of a 5+ or 6+. At AP2, there is no armor save. It's invulnerable saves or nothing. Vehicles couldn't normally be damaged with strength 3 attacks, which is why this ignores vehicles.

The best art I've seen about the nundam is that they get the Star Fox treatment and they have their knees cut off at the knees. Kinda like a dreadnought, wounded warriors put into a machine.

I think a large part of what makes or breaks a mini is how far you can push your suspension of disbelief When a sister drives a church into battle, it makes sense. That's just how they are, but when you stick one in a nundam, people are going to ask how does she bend her legs? Is her faith in the emperor what's keeping her pelvis from breaking in half?

I absolutely adore Paragon Warsuits, they are some of my favorite models in the entire GW model range. The shape and proportions are fucking perfect, it's the queen bitch of mechanized suits.

Personally I think the Paragon Warsuits are incredibly cool. I view them as a force multiplier more than a defensive suit of armor. They aren't in there for safety, just so they can carry a huge sword and multi melta. I rationalize their legs fitting inside as them being in a kneeling position, like they are kneeling for prayer

There is a Sons of Guns episode where they help make a FLAME THROWER CANNON, that is the closest you will get to seeing what new of these vehicle mounted flamers would look like!!!!!!

To be fair, sometimes and Anchorite is more like a Sisters Dreadnought, stripped of the pain-and-guilt stuff and fitted with life support systems instead to keep and experienced but injured battle sister alive and fighting. You'd think they'd give her a Warsuit instead but I guess not. I'm planning to build one that at least had hands.

When theyre talking about Morvenn Vahl, Bricky mentions something about our brains rejecting certain images and not others. Its not an emotion, its memory recollection. Humans develop "schemas"; concepts or mental models of ideas, like how we learn to differentiate animals, vehicles etc from childhood. Taking what we already have learnt of what a exo-skeleton looks like, its easy to dismiss when it doesnt "seem to work" because weve seen or theorised what it looks like when it does work. So, in the process of discussing what's wrong about it, is exactly what the mental phenomenon is. So, good job.

I almost never comment on videos since I like to listen to the podcast via Spotify at work but I am a big fan of this episode, it's really cool to see dk come into some maturity within the hobby and I love to hear all your opinions on models on the tabletop. The vibe was very casual chat with friends and less structured let's make a show and I loved that. I really hope there are more like this to follow

I think how far a person will accept the weirdness of a model depends on how far they can justify the weirdness. The DaVinci wings work for most because they know it has a function. It flies. The pipe organ gun shoots, it has a function. The damn stilts on a guy who supposedly shoots farther because of it does nothing. Some people can see it helps him shoot farther so it works for them. Most people can't really believe that. He's just tall for no reason.

I want the Repressor to come back in plastic with a similar makeover to what the Immolator got. Imagine a rhino chassis with a steeple covered in firing decks.

Of course Bricky's main complaint about the Nundom is that it hides the feet. And how the pipe organ missile launcher works doesn't seem all that illogical, it's a pneumatic launch VLS battery where the blasts of air also sound the pipes.

As an admech player I have 3 issues with skratos: 1) modeling effort: it feels like they took random bits from other models and mashed them together. He has a sicarian head and body, his legs arms, and guns are skitarii, the exhaust is from our vehicles and then they tried to disguise it all by making him long and putting him on stilts. 2) practicality: if you attempt to tansport this model anywhere 100% of the time you will have broken chopsticks by the end of the travel. It is far too fragile to actually game with. 3) his rules: they gave him STEALTH and LONE OP to try and let him survive in the corner of the board... both of which are meant to be "you can't see me, the fog of war covers me from sight so you cant target me" the trouble is HE IS THE TALLEST THING IN THE ADMECH RANGE. He sticks out like a sore thumb... you would have to be afflixted with nurgle tier cataract pustules to not be able to see him... Overall, his theming fits in the army because they literally used other bits to make him, but it is clearly so low effort that it hurts when ad mech could really use some other models... lets fill out the machines range (30k robots) or get a skitarii marshal on walker, or on chicken walker, or hell even make a cool jump pack version... especially when compared with what necrons got at the same time, getting just this 1 model felt like a slap in the face.

When they talk about the game I just see the the pick of DK with his tounge on his nose flipping back and forth between the two!

I think a big thing to consider is there isn't necessarily anything wrong with an absurd or illogical concept. The problem comes in when the idea or design draws too much attention to its implausibility that you can't really let it go. As a comparison, the Admech fliers with the Da Vinci wings are fine because if you remove the stylistic choice from it, it's still just normal wings on flying units. You can let it slide because the general design doesn't cause issues - which contrasts greatly with the long legs of the Sydonian Skatros unit. This one also has some functionality to it, but the concept and proportionality are so odd that it can't help but draw attention to itself. The style choice of the former enhances a decent base design, while the latter is hampered by it. The Paragon warsuits suffer a similar problem. They "look" good in concept and function, especially considering where they took inspiration from. The problem is that the body proportionality looks super off, and once you notice it, it can be very hard to unsee, and that consequently hampers the quality of the design.

I got the Sister Castigator tank mostly because of how much I loved the look of it and how well it goes with my Baal Predator tank. Sisters + Blood Angels = My Guys :)

I recently learned about Temple Chariots and it felt very Sisters of Battle to me. Sort of like a mobile church

The stilts look adjustable, so you could take cover and fire from behind variously-sized objects. Makes sense to me.

I play Guard, and I've never liked the "it's realist" argument. If I wanted realistic tanks, I'd play a historical miniature games, not 40K ^^'
