Your thoughts have real-world physical manifestations.
When an situation happens you'll have a thought behind it. That thought will have an emotion behind it.
Your subsequent actions will be based on what type of emotion you had, and that might enhance or hinder your performance.
Then the loop repeats again and again, all day every day. Being aware of it and actively directing our emotions is a way we turn turn a negative feedback loop into a positive one.

It's pretty simple really like wingsuit flying. If you go up in the airplane and go wingsuit flying and then open your parachute it's no more risky than a regular parachute jump. It gets boring so to get a better buzz these people got to do proximity flying. That's where the death happens proximity flying in just about any of these venues proximity flying causes the deaths. Two guys took off flying in Colorado down a mountain one of them was a Navy SEAL and a speed wing. He was proximity flying hit a tree broke the tree off and it killed him. You missed the most important stage in this. The complacency stage. That's where most of your accidents occur in anything driving industrial Maritime industry. I love simple rules I follow them like a religion to avoid complacency error. One rule is always put your harness all the way on or take your harness all the way off. People get complacent and once in a while they try to launch with no leg straps attached. How does this happen? The fear cycle has faded to nothing and they are complacent. How can you avoid it? Have rules and follow them.

Totally agree. Having a set routine that you follow and never deviate from also helps avoid complacency,at least with regard to preflight prep and setup.

@@JohnnyFaber I just mean workout a set of practices and never take a shortcut. Then try to have some common sense. One of the pilots that learned at my school went to a contest down in Texas and the weather changed and they told everybody land immediately the show was over. This guy couldn't follow a rule like take advice from a person sitting at a desk running a computer worrying about a contest about the weather instead of looking from your harness and deciding you can take it. He died because he didn't have that rule.
