Skate 4 is looking... HUGE 

Cant belive its been about 14 years since 3

Bruh when I was like 11 about 7 years ago I went to Game Stop and asked if they had Skate 4 yet and the employee was so confused 💀💀💀

I just hope, the ragdolls are gonna be realistic physics. Not a janky blob falling apart in itself, and not as stiff as in skate3. Although I'd prefer the stiff one over blob physics

they are showing u can play the game anyway u want. they got the smooth tech tricks yet also the fun weird animations to do unrealistic stuff. i like how they added climbing cuz they know people use glitches to get on buildings. they are giving us plenty to make the game last forever. another thing i appreciate is them adding dreads. i have dreads and could never make my character look like me.

If any skate dev is reading this, please put tagging in the game. With the new climbing and online focus of skate 4, it would be so cool to leave a tag on top of a building or at a skate spot. It could despawn when you logoff. Love you Zex thanks for keeping us up to date!

I really hope they don’t try to make it too ‘realistic’. They should keep it arcade-y just like the previous games. It’s what everyone enjoys and what makes the game so therapeutic to play. I also hope they don’t try and switch up the controls too much. Loved Skate 3’s controls

I have to say, I was kinda scared for Skate. to become a flop. But there are *so* many new possibilities and the animations are *so* smooth that I cannot imagine it will actually fail. I only hope they'll implement a proper story mode again.

4:38 looks like the skater hippie jumped onto the rail and jumped off the rail into a kong on the 2nd rail and landed back on the board. So sick how they are adding parkour tricks too

I find it extremely weird how they showcased that wall ride manual and it ended up being your favorite clip. A few days ago I uploaded a clip to zexyzeks reddit of me doing exactly that, a wall ride manual, riding out into a manual. That’s something you can do in skate 3

In the last developer table meet they said console testing was coming next year. While I don't think it'll be at the beta stage, it should be further from the alpha we currently see. 3D department probably has been churning out stuff that we haven't even seen since they aren't necessarily held back from current development process. I think they are purposefully withholding textured content cuz playtest state of map ≠ actual state of map; they are just focusing on the actual map textures separately so it hopefully blows the lowering expectations the community has voiced. It makes no sense to have nobody working on maps while they iron out actual gameplay through playtests/development when its something that can be worked on now. So I could see them doing something along the lines of what the Skate 3 demo was for console playtests. A section of the main map skatable for playtests fully textured but limited to a particular skatable area. I doubt they'd playtest on console with environments looking like they do now, when they can release a playtest with something that looks close to final product and create a "re-hype" for the game launch. All this is speculation though. This is EA after all... any common sense can be thrown out the window, but I choose to hold just a little hope with how differently they've approached developing this game. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.

It looks good, but the fact this game is still in pre-alpha is extremely worrisome. The marketing for this game is super strange. They don’t usually show so much pre alpha gameplay which makes me think not much progress is being made.

if its made from ubisoft they are probably combining some of their parkour mechanics into a skate game, which on paper doesn’t sound that bad. But lets not forget we are talking about ubisoft, they can make some pretty disappointing stuff

Honestly I'm glad there isn't a release date or even an estimated release date yet, to me it seems they're still working on nailing the physics and controls of the game which is super important for a skate game. The fact that there isn't textures on most of the terrain tells me the map layout and building designs aren't necessarily final yet either, it would suck to spend a bunch of time and effort on textures only for the buildings to change later and having to do it all over again. We're seeing early development, the kind of that's usually left hidden, most companies would still have the game under wraps, or maybe have teased it, but because they want this game to feel like it's made by and for the community they want you to be along for the ride. There's still lots and lots to do so getting a release date in the near future would probably mean rushed content, terrible working environment for the devs and a buggy mess on launch. They definitely have a goal for when they imagine the game might be finished but keeping that a secret is a smart move, it means less outside pressure and no public disappointment if they need to push back the release.
