Nice video... I have a son who's gonna be in his first year peewee. Will this training method be good for him? And can he use put these excercises into one workout? If so, how many times per week and how many minutes per session?
@hockeytraining
@hockeytraining 6 лет назад
Peewee athletes are going to benefit more from a Youth-specific approach. At that age it is much more about building an athletic foundation than it is using more advanced tactics like this to refine/progress a more advanced (in terms of training age) athlete. You should check out our Youth workout videos and the Youth Program: www.hockeytraining.com/youth-program/

How long til u see results? Because im doing AAA tryouts in March

Most athletes report noticing improvements in as little as two weeks but you'll need to be on a complete hockey training program (and not just some workouts) and nutrition system to accelerate progress as fast as possible. Check out our more advanced approaches here: www.hockeytraining.com/programs

@@hockeytraining thank you but I have one question so is it free or money?
@Rglezy
@Rglezy 2 года назад
how could I measure my skating speed? (To track progress) Maybe like measuring time of a full loop around ice?
@hockeytraining
@hockeytraining 2 года назад
Yep! Timed ice lap, or, timed sprint from goal line to far blue line.

@@hockeytraining Thank you so much for the answer. Speed was always my strength in hockey but now that I'm playing with adults My leg power is limiting me I think. Trying to condition myself to join college hockey team in school. Your vids have helped me push my level quite alot tbh. Thanks again :D

hi if i haven't medicine ball what can i do?
@hockeytraining
@hockeytraining 6 лет назад
Having a medicine ball is best, but, you can substitute in doing one explosive broad jump and going right into a sprint.

How many times a week is it recommended?
@hockeytraining
@hockeytraining 3 года назад
Speed workouts like this are usually done 1-2x per week depending on where you are in your hockey training program
@deniskopytin872

Why weight of medicine ball shouldn't be more than 15% of your weight? Does it also apply to other exercises with medicine ball you show on you channel?
@hockeytraining
@hockeytraining 4 года назад
It applies to power-development more than anything else -- You need to be able to move at a high-velocity to properly train power and anything above 15% is likely going to slow people down too much in order to get the desired response. Too heavy of a ball leads to strength training, not power development.

@liveslowlivesimple

realistically you arent gonna get much faster from simply working out unless you dont have a strength base, aka youve never worked out. its 99% on ice technique.
@hockeytraining
@hockeytraining 3 года назад
Yup, that's why all of our training programs include resistance training (weight lifting or bodyweight)

HANDS DOWN this is the most important aspect if you truly want to skate faster. Ive played for over 25_ years and technique is important but with no core strength, balance and stability.. it means nothing Look at the NHL and I kid you not, look at the best skaters, McDavid, Crosby, Jagr,Kovalev... look at their "thighs" , it tells you everything
